Miss Marple
My ds is fascinated with Einstein's Theory of Relativity right now. We are still working through the online physics class material and the most recent "lecture" was on this subject. He talks and talks about it! He wanted to know if there was a course he could take just on this subject. I'm wondering if there is an online lecture (for the non-physicist) or an easy to read book about the subject. I think he wants to learn more about the experiments that have been done to prove the theory as well as hearing the arguments against the theory. Any ideas for me? BTW this is the 12th grader
Jane in NC
Haven't watched or listened, but are you aware of the Teaching Company course on the subject?
Miss Marple
Yes, I looked at it and it looks great. Unfortunately it's not on sale at this time and our library doesn't have it. However, if I get some great feedback on it, I might just order it anyways.

Maybe you can visit him and borrow it? :D
Granny_Weatherwax
This is what my DS is studying this week. He is loving Relativity, too. If you find a few good resources can you share??
Corraleno
There are a few copies of the TC course on ebay at the moment: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=einstein%27s+relativity+dvd&_sacat=See-All-Categories There are some on Amazon as well: http://www.amazon.com/Einsteins-Relativity-Quantum-Revolution-Non-Scientists/dp/1565855655/ref=sr_1_1?s=gateway&ie=UTF8&qid=1285026208&sr=8-1 If you can wait a little bit, someone here will probably get an email discount code for science courses in the next month or so. Jana
I love this book. It explains most scientific concepts (and the history of their discovery) in a fun way. It's a great read.
