Sharon H in IL
I was at Left Bank Books last weekend, and saw a book that I intended to pick up for my son, but by the time I emerged from the basement used book section I had forgotten all about it. Can you all help me come up with some nice options? William liked Peter & the Star Catchers, Harry Potter, Eragon, Percy Jackson, and Ranger's Apprentice. hornblower
I read the YA book The Hunger Games recently & enjoyed it. Not exactly fun - dystopic I guess, but very engrossing. For fun, I'd go with the oldie Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. That was a big hit here.
Cinder
Ds2 is 12yo and also enjoyed Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. His current fave is Artemis Fowl and the Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid (by Rick Riordan). Cinder

Dee_Garretson
My son's favorite series at that age after Harry Potter were the Artemis Fowl books and the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. It sounds like your son likes fantasy so he might also like the Gregor the Overlander series. They are by the same author who wrote the Hunger Games. Margo out of lurking
William liked Peter & the Star Catchers, Harry Potter, Eragon, Percy Jackson, and Ranger's Apprentice. My ds loves Ranger's Apprentice, but stopped reading mid-series after becoming hooked on Pendragon. He's flying through those right now, so that's my recommendation. :)
