parias1126
Does anyone have a link to something on the internet such as a virtual tour or something on the creation/history of money? My son asked me this morning and if I type in Creation of Money I get some silly youtube videos that aren't what I am looking for. My ds who is interested in the subject is 6. Anyone have any ideas? I really need a huge encyclopedia as this child is intrigued with something different everyday!
Daisy
You may be able to find this book at your library. We love it. It starts out with the origins of money and heads into a child-appropriate explanation of economics. Show Me The Money
Laura Corin
We got some great free booklets from the New York Federal Reserve - one of them was on the origin of money. It looks like they might have switched to downloads, but you might find something suitable. Laura

Farrar
When my guys got interested in money, I looked for stuff online and didn't find anything really fun or great, though there were several sites with information - it was just very wordy or the "games" were just quizzes. We did find a bunch of good picture books, though. I did a blog post about it... http://farrarwilliams.wordpress.com/2010/05/20/money-picture-books/
mcconnellboys
You used to be able to go online to the Federal Reserve and get loads of free books, pamphlets, videos, etc. detailing our monetary system....

Stacy in NJ
It's available from amazon. PBS did a pretty interesting series on it with Ferguson as host. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/ascentofmoney/
