Do you know your child's Lexile score? Is there a free way to find out?

Recommended Posts

Maybe look at books at your child's reading level and see what the lexile scores are for those books?

Well, it's never been a problem. I can pretty much look at a book and know if it's right for most of my dc. I do have a LD high schooler though, and the lines are fuzzy when trying to include necessary technical content for each course (especially sciences), while at the highest possible reading level he can understand. I thought it might make textbook selection a bit easier.

You can go to Scholastic Book Wizard, type in a book at your dc's grade level of reading, and convert it to Lexile.

Thanks! I did know about this, but I'm still holding out hope that a "second opinion" about what his level actually is will help me confirm a science textbook choice.
