kwg
Does anyone have a study guide or ....something that goes with this?
kwg
http://www.amblesideonline.org/TaxonKeyBurgess.shtml http://burgessanimals.shutterfly.com/8 I found these which may help someone else. I am hoping for additional resources if there are any!
Satori
Awesome! I just downloaded that book to my iPad when you first posted. My daughter has been writing about animals a lot, so I planned on purchasing it soon. I was just thinking I'd have a lot of research to do to make the most of it, but your links will help! Thanks for the resources! If anyone wants a "companion" to the Burgess Bird book, I wrote one up.
Scrub Jay
Thanks! We're doing the bird study now but plan to cover his animal book next.
Irishmommy
This is awesome! I'm glad I clicked this thread! My ds and I have LOVED the Burgess animal book. I can't wait to use this with dd and ds next year. I can even have him read the stories to his little sister now!
Mama2two
Bumping this up to see if anyone has any additional ideas or resources to use with the animal book.
bpskowski
If you live in Massachusetts, the Thorton Burgess museum has Education kits that go along with the books. They look incredible! They loan them out free of charge to local area. http://www.thorntonburgess.org/EducationKits.htm Unfortunately, I'm not in the area, so I haven't actually used them.
Mama2two
Wow, that does look awesome, unfortunately I don't live in Massachusetts!
serendipitous journey
This blog has a list of Burgess Animal Book resources ... I think the only not given in this thread is the librivox audio; and also the blogger's own images.
Kfamily
Here are some of the resources I gathered for The Burgess Animal Book http://amindinthelight.blogspot.jp/search/label/Burgess%20Animal%20Book A lot of them are the same as posted already, but I made a printable animal study page which is on there with a line for the scientific name of the animal (I wanted this included and just made my own), some classification resources and coloring pages too.
