Check written to minor

My mom wrote a check out to my daughter who is 7. Can I just write pay to the order, put my name and than sign it? Should I have my daughter sign it and than put minor after as well?

If she has a bank account, you can deposit it there without any signature. Otherwise, ask you bank how they want you to handle it.

My 10 y/o gets checks all the time. Mostly they just have her sign it. Sometimes they have us both sign it as above but that seems just to be the new ppl.

This is what our bank has us do, and it hasn't been a problem.

Two people sign fits most standard and procedures.

I've always just signed my own name and written "for minor child" underneath it, and I've never had a problem depositing a check that way.

This is what we do and never have any issues. I have my husband sign as he has the last name as the kids and I have a different one and I figure it will cut down on the possibility of a problem.
