My hall bathroom is almost done!

Recommended Posts

Just to update my progress: we chose a color called silver leaf and it's really a gorgeous color. Now that it's on the walls, it has sort of a grayish blue tint that is really very calming. We primered the ceiling along with the walls but when it came time to paint with color, we decided our color was much too light to mix with white as a ceiling color. We worried it would be too little result for too much work. But still, it's a small bathroom and the white ceiling looks fine.

Before we began painting, I cleaned, scrubbed, and scraped the bathroom tiles. The previous owners slapped a coat of paint on the grout and didn't make a great effort and removing the excess paint off the tiles. Finally, I covered the already-painted grout with trim paint because it was the only white paint we had. I didn't think of primer until after I was finished. :tongue_smilie: That would likely have stuck so much better. So, if the paint on the grout starts messing up, I now have a plan to fix it again.

We purchased new accessories: cabinet knobs, shower curtain hooks, shower curtain, a soap dispenser, and a few more small baskets to help organize the girls' toiletries that sit on an open shelf.

The final look is so calm and pretty. Well, it will be final when DH puts the shelves and pictures back on the walls. It's exactly what we wanted! I'm going to wait until after our vacation and tackle the master bathroom next. :)
