Johanna
Wonder and Joy preschool "Where your children discover the wonders of God's creation and experience the joys of learning!" or "Where your children follow their wonders and discover the joys of learning!" LOGO behind preschool title: sillouhette of boy (with curly hair) chasing/ catching butterfly with a net or it landing on his hands ......so, what do you think??? Is it catchy enough, does it get the point across that I want a preschool that encourages a child's natural curiousity about the world around them that God gave them, a place where they will fall in love with learning. any other ideas?? Here were some other names that were on the list: (however all of these come a little short with encompassing my heart in how I want my preschool to be known as.....KWIM> what do you think: THE RIGHT PATH PRESCHOOL HOMEGROWN PRESCHOOL MADE WITH LOVE PRESCHOOL HOMEGROWN HEARTS PRESCHOOL HOLDING HANDS AND HEARTS PRESCHOOL COZY COTTAGE PRESCHOOL Place of PRAISE PRESCHOOL COZY GARDEN PRESCHOOL MANY BLESSINGS PRESCHOOL JOYFUL JOURNEY PRESCHOOL POCKET FULL OF ROCKS PRESCHOOL CREATION CORNER PRESCHOOL GROWING GRACES PRESCHOOL TRUE TREASURES PRESCHOOL Edited April 17, 2010 by Johanna
IsabelC
I think "Wonder and Joy" sounds nice. I would prefer the first slogan, because 'follow their wonders' in the second one reads a little awkwardly to me. "Where your children discover the wonders of God's creation and experience the joys of learning!" reads smoothly and seems to portray the image that you're wanting succinctly. THE RIGHT PATH PRESCHOOL - sounds slightly dogmatic HOMEGROWN PRESCHOOL - nice but sounds like a gardening class MADE WITH LOVE PRESCHOOL - cute HOMEGROWN HEARTS PRESCHOOL - hmmm dunno HOLDING HANDS AND HEARTS PRESCHOOL - too alliterative COZY COTTAGE PRESCHOOL - been done before Place of PRAISE PRESCHOOL - maybe COZY GARDEN PRESCHOOL - are gardens cozy? not sure MANY BLESSINGS PRESCHOOL - like it JOYFUL JOURNEY PRESCHOOL - OK but again not sure about the alliteration POCKET FULL OF ROCKS PRESCHOOL - mystifying to those who haven't heard the phrase before CREATION CORNER PRESCHOOL - makes me envision a boxing ring GROWING GRACES PRESCHOOL - grrrrrrrrrrr TRUE TREASURES PRESCHOOL - OK But hey, don't take any notice, because it's all a matter of taste and my taste might be completely different to yours! Go with what feels right for you :001_smile: Edited April 17, 2010 by Hotdrink

Chris in VA
We went to a school named Holding Hands when we lived in Miami. It was a true co-op, not a homeschooling one. The parents came one day a month and acted as teacher's aides in the Aged 3-K classrooms, and provided a snack. They also cleaned the bathrooms and acted as the governing body (an elected board-type). It went up to 2nd grade (they hired me as a teacher's aid while my son went to the 3's program). The logo was those paper dolls holding hands in a row, I think. I like Wonder and Joy.
smrtmama
I like it, but would use Joy and Wonder instead of Wonder and Joy, for the meter. :)
Johanna
back to square one, my dh doesnt like it....he says it doesnt roll off the tongue well. I guess he's right. hmmmmmm?
lollie010
I dreamed last night of opening a preschool named Gentle Spirits. Don't know why I was thinking about it in my sleep, because I cannot imagine opening a preschool. I don't think I could manage it. Hope everything works out for you. kdeno
and your logo sounds great! What about Joy and Curiosity~ no, something is wrong hmmmm I am sure The Hive will have some great ideas!
Caribbean Queen
I don't think I like the butterfly boy sign. It might look overly sweet and cheesy, like Disney's Snow White having birds landing on her arms. It might make me think, "Butterflies land on the children there? Yeah right." The college I went to has magazines full of photos of cutsey stuff that never happens, like someone getting a private flute lesson on the front lawn of the science building. It makes me laugh. Maybe I am just a grinch, though. THE RIGHT PATH PRESCHOOL -- I like HOMEGROWN PRESCHOOL -- might be weird hippies MADE WITH LOVE PRESCHOOL -- reminds me of "tea" and conception HOMEGROWN HEARTS PRESCHOOL -- I don't know what this means HOLDING HANDS AND HEARTS PRESCHOOL -- holding hearts? COZY COTTAGE PRESCHOOL -- Why cottage? Place of PRAISE PRESCHOOL -- I like COZY GARDEN PRESCHOOL -- Is there a cozy garden? MANY BLESSINGS PRESCHOOL -- I like JOYFUL JOURNEY PRESCHOOL -- I like POCKET FULL OF ROCKS PRESCHOOL -- What in the world? No. CREATION CORNER PRESCHOOL -- sounds weird GROWING GRACES PRESCHOOL -- I like TRUE TREASURES PRESCHOOL -- I like
cathmom
What about Wonder Garden? or any spelling or version thereof you like. You could use your first slogan but just say "creation" instead of "God's creation" if you want to be generic.
Johanna
this name thing is hard!! LOL I think "Joyful Journeys" may win out. Or what about "Rise and Shine" ?? Edited April 18, 2010 by Johanna

I am also debating if I should put "Chistian" in my title ....I dont want parents to be blind-sided when they find out that I teach bible and about Jesus. Its just me, it'd be too hard to teach children w/o having God a part of it.

Sebastian (a lady)
THANKS!! I love feedback :)...I think this may be my winner. Now, for a logo....... hmmmmmm??? A book with either an old fashioned lantern nearby or a compass leaning on it, with a butterfly (or maybe a ladybug) on the book. I would put the Christian underpinnings in you literature/website about the preschool, but probably not in the name.

IsabelC
Have you considered including the name as part of some market research in the area and demographic that you're aiming to capture?
