Is anyone familiar with Drive Thru History?

My 9yo has seen some of a Drive Thru History DVD and wants me to buy the DVDs. I see that there are several different series available; I'd possibly consider the U.S. history series.

However, I need to know how religiously-based these are. Dh is opposed to teaching from a providential/Christian viewpoint. He doesn't mind if the book/materials mention that a specific person was a Christian; he doesn't want the teaching to be pushing theology.

We recently purchased these DVD's. I don't think the narrator pushes a specific theology, but they are Christian based. The ancients show the beginnings of the Christian church and what western civilization has received from Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. They also talk about who was martyred and by what Caesar.

I've only seen one of the America ones, so far, and the focus is on Christianity. They show the historical roots of America by going back to England, Holland, and showing where the forefathers sailed from and where they landed. This is all done from a Christian point of view.

Hope this helps a bit,

Lisa

I record them (DVR) on the TBN channel. My kids LOVE these. I think they are very well done, and my husband enjoys watching these too. (We are Christians, but he's not into watching anything preachy at all!) The host is "cool" - and has a great personality. I've learned all kinds of things I didn't know about American history, and it's great to see where it all took place! I don't think you'll be disappointed in the American history ones, but I haven't seen the others.
