dancer67
Where do you purchase these textbooks? Doesn't look like you order directly from their website? I saw samples. But are there experiments? Looking at Earth Science.
Matryoshka
I got the California editions, as they're much easier to find "used" (read: brand new, shrink-wrapped, for $20 or less) I got the texts bundled with the lab manuals on ebay, and the teacher's manual on Amazon. Yes, there are two experiments per chapter.

dancer67
anyone have an ISBN# for the Earth Science and Teachers Edition so I know they match up? Does it matter if it is the "Focus On" series, or just the regular Eartch Science? Is there anything else that needs to be purchased with this? I saw on their website that they offer a kit. So I am assuming you can just buy things as you need them for experiments? Thank you:D

They are both available with ISBN's if you look at both websites. http://www.cpo.com/home/ForEducators/MiddleSchoolEarthScience/tabid/261/Default.aspx http://www.cpo.com/ca/tp_fes_entry.shtml
Pixie
I got mine from amazon and ebay. I have the "regular" series. I like that it aligns with the ressources on the website but other than that I am sure the "focus on" is just fine too. However you need to pick one or the other, don't mix and match, because they moved some topics around so you might miss some or have others twice. dancer67
Thank you! I was able to find the regular Earth Science on Amazon, 2007e, with the correct ISBN #'s THANKS!
Capt_Uhura
I bought mine at Amazon Marketplace. I got the standard series though and not the Calif. Focus On series.

kangato3
Is there anything else that needs to be purchased with this? I saw on their website that they offer a kit. So I am assuming you can just buy things as you need them for experiments? Thank you:D Their kit items are prohibitively expensive; however, you can improvise quite a bit. For example, many of the earth science investigations call for a "geobox". I found that a clear plastic bin served the purpose nicely. The best thing is to go through the Investigations manual ahead of time to see what can be adapted. I have been able to do just about all of the investigations with household materials. I did invest in a pad of Bathymetric maps, which were quite reasonable. These I found in their catalog, but not at the website. kangato3
Here are the ISBN's for the California Focus on Earth Science: http://www.cpo.com/ca/tp_fes_textbook.shtml I purchased the textbook, investigations manual, and teacher manual all through Amazon.com used sellers for a reasonable price. Although you can purchase the text directly from CPO, they will not sell the teacher manual to individuals (at least, that's what they told me a few months ago).
