MariannNOVA
Wow - lead in bears? I know! I thought they would all be hibernating this time of year!:lol::lol: I'm sorry -- seriously, so many families have kids who are at the age when they might buy one of these and never know that the bear has lead. mom4him
The article says they were made in China. I avoid everything that I can that is made in China. I bought some 100% cotton blankets about 3 yrs ago. They made me very sick just trying to detox them. Finally boxed them up and put them in the garage awaiting our next trip to town. When the clerk opened up the box she litterally jumped back, they still smelled so bad. Guess what, they were made in China. I have been told similar stories about clothes. We paid about 3-4 X for the dished that we purchased a couple of years ago to get American made but I don't worry about them having lead in them and poisoning my family. Any more it is very important that we are reading labels and purchasing only from area that are safe. Pretty soon retailers will get the idea. gardening momma
Wow - lead in bears? It's probably in the vinyl/pvc material (or whatever it's made of) that the letters are made out of. Similar to the lead issue with children's clothing recently--the children's product safety act.

Starr
This sounds like something from those Alex Rider novels the kids read!
