happyWImom
Remember the game? I had it & played it as a child and loved it. Dd played it at a friends and kept asking for it. We bought it today, and she kept saying "This is different, where are the doctor cards, where is the money?" Also, the body parts are all different. I went on line, and from what I can figure out, the original game was by Milton Bradley, and had all the extras. This one, by Hasbro doesn't have the money or the cards, you just have a time clock that you work against. What a bummer. I did see the original on Amazon-for $42! I don't think so. My friend got hers at a garage sale for her dd. What a disapointment.

When you press the nose, you hear a sound, and have to figure out which body part matches the sound. They're not named anywhere, that I can find. It has some strange sounds (parts) that I don't remember from the original game. Like, a fart! Did the old game have a fart? It has a rubber thingie that fits in near the guys bottom, and the associated sound is a fart. I'm sure my ds loves it, but my little girl just looks at me with this quizzical look on her face! :) One thing I do like is the skill level setting. On the "easy" level, you have to hold the clip against the side for a couple full seconds before it buzzes at you. I don't remember that on the original game. It's been a loooooong time since I've seen it, though.
FriedClams
I totally agree - it stinks. I bought It for my DD for Christmas - and it flopped. All the changes and it was insufferably LOUD. It's in the garage awaiting "modifications".
KristenS
Wow, glad we haven't gotten this one yet. Sounds like one to find used.
Renthead Mommy
The old battleship was great in two seperate laptop computer style cases. You could sit on either side of the table adn play. The new one is all one thing. It stands up on the table, and you both play on opposite side of a plastic divider with a carboard piece between. I think it's supposed to look more like sonar radar or something. But when my son pushes pins in on his side, they pop out on mine. I really miss the old version. So much better to store (you didn't need to keep the stupid box!) and traveled so much better, not to mention worked better!
Serendipity
We have Spongebob Operation and it came with a lot of body parts, doctor and specialist cards, and money. My only beef with it is that the buzzer needs to be like the one in the original game; LOUD. It's loud, but not loud enough... :)

We also have Battleship, and it has the two separate little "suitcases" for the players. We didn't buy it that long ago, maybe 18 months or so? I was thinking battleship would be great for my dc, but not now.
WiseOwlKnits
The new Operation does stink. We got it for Christmas and it was a huge disappointment. They had the old Battleship this Christmas too and, come to think of it, I saw it the other day at Wal-Mart for $10. So check there for the original one if you're looking for it. Jackie We have the HULK Operation game and it had money and cards with it. But there's a short in the wiring or something because it won't buzz at all. So our's is waiting to be worked on. ProudGrandma
oh, if I could find the old version of Battleship, I would love that too!! It seems like all of the games that have made a comeback from when we were kids are just not the same and it is so sad!!
