  1. It would be too much for me! I think 3 hrs is my max.
  2. We've been reading this one too. My 5yr old enjoys it.
  3. I only skimmed the first couple pages of this thread... I've checked it out from the library several times, before finding a copy at Half Price Books. I love the lists and I also check his website for updates. If I were in your position of buying it or not reading it at all, I'd buy it. You might want to also check PaperbackSwap.com.
  4. I have them on the wall in the dining room. They are in 4 strips and I tacked them together like one poster. I've been thinking of redoing it in to one long strip above the windows.
  5. I think this is the one. LINK She has her activity cards available for download.
  6. I saw a blog with something very similar. Let me see if I can find it!
  7. Thank you for this! I always feel so overwhelmed reading some of the signatures and posts!
  8. Our museum has free admission on Tues afternoon. The children's musuem (lots of science activities) has 1/2 price admission one day a week. I'd love to get a season pass to the children's museum, but I missed it before it sold out on Groupon. We got season passes to the zoo through Groupon. It was $30 for the whole family for a year, that's 1/2 the normal cost!! I'm hoping they offer it again this year. We split a season pass with another HS family for the children's theater. It worked great since we both only have two kids. There were enough tickets for both of our families to see every show. I think the cost per ticket was about $2. If I had bought them day of the show, it would be closer to $20 for me to take my kids!! Passes really save you money! We are also doing free bowling this summer, but I don't call that a field trip. :tongue_smilie:
  9. I don't know what our local PS does. We have at least 1-3 a month. We have season passes to the children's theater, so that's a monthly visit. We also have passes to the zoo and rotate that out with museums and other places (fire dept, police dept, etc).
  10. :lurk5: I have the same question. I need to find something more for music. I have quite a few Kindermusik instruments that we play along with CDs, but I am so not musically inclined! LOL We do tons of arts and crafts. We also visit the children's art studio for open art on a regular basis. My kids love doing crafts. For right now we are keeping it light and fun. Watercolor crayons are their favorite medium right now.
  11. He's *almost 6 and I voted blue, but he says blue AND green are his favorites. LOL
  12. We started with the book version (Book 1) and quickly changed to the online version (Book 1 and now Book 2). I like that the online version is game-like (which pleases DS and he puts up less of a fight) and that it will repeat a section until he understands it. We have done Book 1 & Book 2 online. I think the upside to using the books is that you get a lot of handwriting practice out of it.
  13. I also have a Nov 05 kiddo. We'll "officially" be Kinder this fall. He'll be starting some 1st grade work, but I plan to call him what he would be in public just to avoid confusion. I'm excited!! DH still wants him to try public (for a month :glare:) but both DS and I want to HS, so DH will likely get vetoed. I'm trying to get my plan together of what we'll do next year.
  14. I can't wait to see "after" pictures!! I would totally paint all that paneling white. I would go with a pretty green. What a great room!
  15. I know a lot will depend on your area. Some places you can pricer higher than others. Kid clothes - about .50 an item. If it's really worn, then .25 an item. Gymboree and Children's Place in good condition, $1.00 maybe $2.00 depending on what it is. Jackets you could go a little higher too, but not more than $5 I would think. Kid Jeans - $1 a pair Shoes in pretty good condition - $1 a pair. This includes Robeez. I have not been able to get more than $2 a pair for the soft soled shoes. If they are really nice, I'd try ebay or a consignment store.
