DB in NJ
I *really* miss running, but I can't run when it's below 50 degrees (my lungs just can't take the cold, dry air). So I think I'm gonna cave and get a treadmill (a/k/a dreadmill) :D Need something affordable but decent.
Michelle T
We have a Horizon Elite 1.3T. I am thinking it cost less than $1,000, maybe around $600 or so? It's been a couple years, so I've forgotten. We got it at a exercise equipment store. I admit, after the first several months, I rarely used it, and in fact it's probably been close to a year since I've been on it. Tammyla
We purchased a Gold's Gym last year and it works for all of us; even my dh who actually runs on it. They have a number of options 450, 550, and 650 all well under $700 if you check around. We went with a Walmart sale just after Christmas (saved almost $200 as it was last year's model) their sale price was worth lugging it home and upstairs ourselves. However....we will never move that thing unless someone else does it. Ours is upstairs and you can hear anyone walking fast or running in the living room. That's something to consider if sound is a problem. I don't love it, but it gets a workout during the cold months here by all of us. We would all prefer to walk, run or jog outdoors, but that isn't always an option here.
KarenC
That's exactly how I feel about treadmills! Sorry, I'm no help. Karen
Garga
I'm going to start calling mine The Dreadmill, too. We asked all of our friends where to find a treadmill, and two of them offered to give us theirs (since they never use them.) Start asking around. Maybe someone will offer you one! Colleen
A dreaded dreadmill?! No can do, my friend. I refuse to allow you to be assimilated.;) (Seriously, I hope you find what you need such that you can keep running for life.:))
DB in NJ
LOL!! If the blasted cold air didn't make me feel like my lungs were gonna explode, I wouldn't even think about one of these infernal machines. However... *sigh* I think I'll start asking around and see what comes my way. Thanks, guys!
