We did some Latin flash cards until I went in for my appointment, then he sat reading in the waiting room while I saw the doctor. I went up to the receptionist to make a new appointment afterward and she commented on how much my 'daughter' liked reading. I said that he did and she caught on that Hobbes is a boy. She talked about her son and how she wished he enjoyed reading more. Then she mentioned Hobbes' long hair and I said that, as he is home educated, we don't have to worry about school regulations. Her reaction was wonderful. I could tell that she didn't approve of HE, but at the same time she had just been talking about Hobbes' reading and couldn't backtrack too far.
