Michelle My Bell
We are planning a fun little day trip tomorrow, but the distance has got me second guessing. What is the farthest you would travel for a day trip? Remember you have to return home that night.
Daisy
Three hours one way and it would make me cranky.
IsabelC
2 hours there and 2 hours back is about our limit, and even then we'd go with an overnight stay if we could manage it. Anything longer we'd only do for a once in a lifetime special experience.
AnneC
We're going to drive 3+ hours each way on Tuesday to go to IKEA:lol:
Happy
My sons are good travelers and I love to drive. 3 hours one way is very doable for us.
Guest Alte Veste Academy
We're going to drive 3+ hours each way on Tuesday to go to IKEA:lol: My limit is 2-3 hours but man, IKEA would make it so worth it. If you're taking all the kids, you're a better woman than I am. Do be sure to check stock online before you go. Ask me how I learned that one... staceyobu
I'd say about three hours. If there was something super amazing four hours away, I'd drive home tired. ;)
elegantlion
I voted 3-4. Recently we did 4 and it was almost too much for a daytrip for us, but 3 hours has been done before without issue.
Pippen
We're going to drive 3+ hours each way on Tuesday to go to IKEA:lol: Have fun! Last month I planned on taking my daughter to a museum and then shopping at IKEA, a 2 hour's drive from here. We arrived to an empty museum parking lot only to discover they were closed on Mondays. I'd checked the website but completely missed that! So we did the only sensible thing--went to IKEA, had lunch at Panerra, went to the mall, hung out at the bookstore. It's not what I planned but we had a good time and I'm pretty sure that our "shopping field trip" will be her most memorable one of the year. sweetTN
Our basic rule is never to spend more time traveling than we will spend at our destination.
LaxMom
Our basic rule is never to spend more time traveling than we will spend at our destination. That's mine, too. NYC is about 4 hrs from here, and we could do that for an event or something. It would be an early morning and late night, though.
