Marsha
I would like to see what your grammar and writing choices are after ILL? Thank you
Sue G in PA
MFW suggest going into Analytical Grammar (I think that's what it is called) after ILL. Not sure about writing. Lots of choices out there. I had been looking at Jump In from Apologia. It does get good reviews.

That cements the basic names of the parts of speech. Applications of Grammar goes into all the details. I found All-In-One (for grammar), Writing Strands (for writing), and Progeny Press (to begin literature analysis) worked well for my 7th grader last year. Whatever you use, those are the 3 areas I'd try to hit on after ILL. cbollin
My oldest finished ILL and then kept going with MFW's recommendations. Grammar: All in One, and then Applications of Grammar. MFW doesn't use Analytical Grammar. Here's their LA sequence.... http://www.mfwbooks.com/lang_arts.htm Writing: still in Writing Strands over here. (book 6 and slowly working in it) Literature: Progeny Press guides. This is also realizing that some language arts is part of the unit study too. -crystal
Kfamily
If you like this style of book (ILL) then you could try Lingua Mater: Language Lessons from Literature from Hillside Education. It has a Catholic slant but from what I've read about it it is not a strong slant. Just an idea....:001_smile: http://www.hillsideeducation.com
