Denisemomof4
Test for Dementia Below are four (4) questions and a bonus question. You have to answer them instantly. You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately, OK? Let's find out just how clever you really are.... First Question: You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in? Answer: If you answered that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second! Try not to screw up next time. Now answer the second question, but don't take as much time as you took for the first question, OK ? Second Question: If you overtake the last person, then you are...? Answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST Person? You're not very good at this, are you? Third Question: Very tricky arithmetic! Note: This must be done in your head only . Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it. Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 . Now add 30 . Add another 1000 . Now add 20 .. Now ad d another 1000 Now add 10 . What is the total? Did you get 5000 ? The correct answer is actually 4100. If you don't believe it, now check it with a calculator! Today is definitely not your day, is it? Maybe you'll get the last question right.... ....Maybe. Fourth Question: Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4.. Nono. What is the name of the fifth daughter? Did you Answer Nunu? NO! Of course it isn't. Her name is Mary. Read the question again. Okay, now the bonus round: A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing his teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done. Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a pair of sunglasses; how does HE indicate what he wants? He just has to open his mouth and ask... It's really very simple.... LaxMom
Uh, yeah... I'm demented. Actually, I keep telling people lately that I'm just hoping the dementia of having small children goes away before the permanent, age related kind sets in. ;) The older I get, the longer it takes to bounce back from the pregnancy/infant stupid. {sigh}

melissel
Uh, yeah... I'm demented. Actually, I keep telling people lately that I'm just hoping the dementia of having small children goes away before the permanent, age related kind sets in. ;) The older I get, the longer it takes to bounce back from the pregnancy/infant stupid. {sigh} And more :lol::lol: It seems to be getting worse for me though, instead of better! The other day I mentioned to my mom that our local Stop & Shop had a great "ding and dent" clearance shelf. I've spent lots of time there and gotten some great deals, even been there a few different times to troll for bargains. This place is three minutes from our house. On Monday, I was there with the girls, and I wondered where the shelves were. Then I realized that I was in a totally different Stop & Shop--nothing was in the same place, and even the lighting was different. I was completely mystified! I knew I must have been thinking of a different Stop & Shop where the clearance shelves are, but to save my life, I could not imagine where it could be. I started to think that maybe I had dreamed about shopping those clearance shelves (I've been having really vivid dreams lately), but I knew that couldn't be! It took me almost a full day to remember where the S&S with the good clearance stuff is--15 minutes from here, one I almost never go to, but I happened to be in the area a few times recently. I'm not embarrassed to admit I was a little afraid for my sanity for awhile there. Really, though, I blame it on having too much on my plate right now, and that I'm actively trying to put my brain on autopilot to get through these next few months with my job *sigh* This test was so timely for me
LizzyBee
I got them all right except for the bonus question. A big DUH on that one! But the other day, I started to put the bread in the fridge and the butter in the pantry! And sometimes, I lose my train of thought when I'm in the middle of a sentence. I hate getting old.
