astrid
Dd's hair tends toward oily. Mine tends to go the opposite way, so I've never really looked into shampoos for oily hair. Care to recommend something? astrid
elizabeth
There is a great one by Paul Mitchell with tea tree oil that is fantastic. Dd also tends toward oily hair but...I have come to the realization that she was not scrubbing her scalp thoroughly nor rinsing adequately. She has since resolved the issue on her own because she is absolutely not going to "have me micromanaging her hair." I swear I will not survive 13. Snickerdoodle
I find that washing my hair less helps control the oil. The more I wash it, the oilier it gets.
HeathenMom
i had horribly oily hair for years and years. i would wash it in the morning and i did good to have it feeling and looking clean for 8 hours. strangely, the only thing that helped was a tubal litigation! now, it's still thin, but it's clean all day!
pbjmeyer
I would wash my hair every morning. And when I got home from school, I would wash the bangs and the 'part' (which was in the middle) because that area was greasy again (not my whole head). For a while, I tried to wash it every other day, like my mother said she did as a teen, but it was gross and the oiliness didn't decrease by doing this. As I got a bit older, I was finally able to reduce it to once a day. So it may not matter even if you use a shampoo for oily hair. Now, in my 50's I could go 2 days without feeling like it needs to be washed. So, this may just be what her oil glands are like at this age.
