Can you use this program without the student textbook and just the DVD's?

I guess it depends on grade level, but we aren't using the textbook with level 5. Everything from the texts is on the CD's.

I think it depends on the way you want to work. For me working with Pre-Algebra I didn't always want to be tied down to the computer to grade his work. So to be mobile I needed the textbook and Answer Key printed. Noah on the other hand switches back and forth between the two depending on his mood. You should also know the Pre-Algebra and up is setup a little different than the lower grades.

I have heard you can use just cds for the lower grades, not the upper. Which grade do you need? If it is 5th, pm me!

We bought the whole package - CD's, Textbook, Answer Key. It turns out all we use is the CD's. Ds sits at his computer, works through each problem, and if he needs to jot it down to work through, he just uses scrap paper, and types in his answer.

We're using Geometry and must have the textbook as the problems are done on paper (though there are solutions on the CDs).

You need the books from PreAlgebra up, because the problem sets are in the books not on the CDs.
