Sunshine Mama
If so, what do you think the appropriate age for comprehension should be? Grammar stage or more logic stage?
jenn4
I tried to read it and got bored. My almost 13 year old who loves to read also got bored with it. I would say logic stage for sure. I found it in the young adult section of our library. I am going to pick it up again when we start Egypt. Hopefully, I will be more in the mood for it.:) Jenn
Susie in CA
You know, it really depends. I read it out loud to my boys when they were in 1st and K. They loved it! Now (Logic Stage) they find it extremely boring. You just never can tell. :001_smile: Susie
Tutor
You know, it really depends. I read it out loud to my boys when they were in 1st and K. They loved it! My kids loved it as a read-aloud at this age too. I haven't reintroduced it as an independent read to them now that they are older, though. Lovedtodeath
I read it, but am saving it for logic stage. I am thinking 8-9 years old.
PeterPan
My dd has read and read it multiple, multiple times, loves it. (I'm saying it ranks as one of her FAVS on Egyptian history.) She first read it around your ds's age (she was late 6, early 7?), but she still rereads it now. I'm guessing it's middle-ish, maybe a 4th grade level, but I haven't looked at it recently. If you really need to know, I'll check.
