Cricket
I keep doing Google searches but only come up with sites I have to pay for. I know this information should be available free through a public records site, shouldn't it?

Julie in CA
I keep doing Google searches but only come up with sites I have to pay for. I know this information should be available free through a public records site, shouldn't it? You may be able to find what you need on zillow.com. The amount of information varies, but lots of them include the last selling price I think.
Tap
I would suggest Zillow too. In the charts and graphs section, it sometimes lists last 'sold price'. If it was a recent transaction it may not show up. I have looked for property before there, and have found it sometimes shows the info and sometimes doesn't. There are also sometimes links at Zillow to county web sites.
OhM
Check the county auditor's web site for a property search. Though if it sold recently, it may not be available.
Prudent
Often commercial property info isn't as readily available on the web. You can go to your county tax assessor's office and ask to see the PTA, Property Transfer Afidavit. It will have the price on it.
OrganicAnn
Some time your local paper will have this information on-line, but it won't necessarily come up on a google search.
Cricket
Thanks all! I was able to find out the price of a residential sale a few months ago very easily. I didn't think it would be so hard with a commercial property!
classicHSmom
I haven't tried commercial searches on here, but it does provide quite a bit of information on residential properties.
