How can I use the front of my utility cupboards as a writing surface?

I thought of chalkboard paint but the chalk powder would fall on the floor and make a mess. The cupboards are white and large and in just the right spot. They are just the cheap utility kind. But they are newish so I want them to still look nice, if possible. Is there a "whiteboard paint" like chalkboard paint? Any other ideas?

(My whiteboard now stands on an easel and takes up way too much valuable floor space that we need in our schoolroom!)

I came across something in Hancock the other day that is a whiteboard film. You cut it to fit, and I assume it clings sort of like plastic wrap, but you can write on the surface with a dry erase marker.

If Hancock has, it so does Michael's, Hobby Lobby and probably Wal-mart.
