  1. Due to challenging life circumstances, none of us wanted to bother with a tree this year until I had the idea to throw tradition aside and try something new. One child refers to it as the ombre tree, the other, as the rainbow tree.
  2. I live in the woods and see no reason to "camp". When I have the money and time, I prefer to head to the city for all that it has to offer.
  3. This would be normal for the first two days of my cycle. I am not 13 though, obviously.
  4. Books by Dr. Joel Fuhrman that might be helpful. Eat to Live The End of Diabetes Eat to Live He has a blog as well.
  5. Edited to include my response :) Actually, most find that level C takes closer to a year and a half when using the 1st edition.
  6. My Grandmother volunteers at the local museum. It is a fantastic choice because she gets to flaunt her knowledge and meet new people in a friendly low key environment. She also volunteers at the hospital, but her favorite, is for the county clerks office where she does very simple data entry. She loves the comradery in the office.
  7. Please rule out potential medical conditions. My dd became very unhappy and mean spirited just before her ninth birthday. It went on for months before I began searching for a good therapist in our area. The week before the first appointment (in part, thanks to the hive) we discovered she had type 1 diabetes. Once she received treatment we had our old daughter back.
  8. In my opinion, if you have a child that is messy and doesn't use proper strokes, she would benefit from the following http://higherupandfurtherin.blogspot.com/search?q=handwriting Bonus, it is CM and free!
  9. This is the best electric pencil sharpener I have ever owned. http://www.amazon.com/School-Smart-Electric-Heavy-Duty-Sharpener/dp/B003U6VS3O/ref=sr_1_21?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1449211326&sr=1-21&keywords=pencil+sharpener
  10. It isn't completely independent no. I haven't found that it takes much time for us, maybe 15 minutes a lesson.
  11. I like it for its ease. We do use a Latin curriculum and I use dictation and to teach along side of it.
  12. I can't speak to R&S, however this is exactly how we have handled with Easy Grammar. I combined my 2nd grader with my 3rd grader using level 3. It worked well, the topics are built on gradually and repeat each year.
  13. I could have written this. Only the fil is my mother. I am just sharing that so you know you are not alone. For some of us in similar situations we are told that we are crazy, not saying that is how you feel, just trying to validate that these toxic people do exist and behave in the way you have described. Nothing you do will change their behavior. Read Boundaries and all you can about narcissistic personality disorder if you can.
