  1. We always alternated poetry, bible and literature The poetry and bible also would serve as our memory work when it was completed
  2. Sounds like a perfect fit. My girls love the experiments, it's the best part. For the first time they are actually getting done without panic :)
  3. Is this a daily teaching type or a weekly discussion curriculum? I am trying to help my dd become more independent in her studies, she will be in 8th grade in the fall thanks
  4. I just went back to school and am taking two English Lit classes, so I am reading Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and William Blake
  5. It is surprising how much my girls are enjoying it (they are in 5th and 7th) and we have done very informal science up to this point. I think 6th would be a great age for Rainbow. I'm on the fence about continuing with the second year with my then 8th grader, I would really like to see her using a "real" textbook to get used to the rigors of hs science so by then we might just switch over to BJU. I sometimes wish the readings were longer or a little more fleshed out, but Apologia General was the opposite and they seem to be retaining better with short snippets rather than long monologues ala Apologia. Hope this helps
  6. I feel like my support group has been taken from me : ) How have you all adjusted? I could use some help
  7. I'm right there with you, I miss the old boards and will probably spend less time here than I did there Sigh
  8. As my girls become older, I will move more into prepared curriculum
  9. My dd loved the actual instruction, but doesn't care for the Reinforcements
  10. Thanks for posting this, how teacher intensive is it? I'm trying to help my dd become more independent in her studies thanks Chris
