  1. I agree that if you lived around me I'd be interested in making some sort of arrangement with you and your daughter. I've actually secretly been praying that the Lord might have something like that for me. I'd check on this board and any others that you can find, local homeschool groups, etc to seek out a homeschool family that may be interested in doing this with you.
  2. Yes, I'm going and can't wait!! I am so excited about the topics and speakers but bummed because I know there is no way that I will get to hear everything I want. Jim Weiss's storytelling one is good -- can't remember what the exact title is right now. I also think I heard Amanda Bennet's talk on gifts and talents. If that's the one I went to, it was also good.
  3. I love The Ultimate Geography and Timeline Guide by Geography Matters.
  4. My daughter would love to be her penpal. She will be 11 next week. LMK
  5. I'm so glad to see that I am not alone about kids in boosters. My oldest girls will be 11 and 9 next week and they are still in boosters. I was going to take my oldest out, but after research decided against it. Research shows that kids do better in boosters until they are at least 4'9" and/or 80lbs. I have a short kid and she doesn't weigh near 80lbs yet either, so we are keeping she and her sisters in their boosters.
  6. My vote is for Teaching the Classics also! I just love it!
  7. My dd will be 11 in just over a week. She loves to have penpals. Let me know if you are interested. We are in IN.
  8. We have a pop-up also. It's one of the smallest out there and just barely fits our family of 6. We didn't get to use it at all last year due to a move, so I am planning a bunch of trips this year. I plan meals out ahead of time. I make things here, freeze them so that they serve as ice in the cooler and then are easily used as they thaw out. There are some great pop-up camper sites that have good information you may want to check out. I just found some other neat ideas I'm going to implement this year for the first time. ENJOY
  9. Carmen, I know you sent me a message, but I can't get to it. Send to me again and we'll see if I am now able to respond! Blessings, Angie
  10. Holly, would you be willing to talk with me more about Heritage Builders? We just recently moved to the area and I know no one. I am trying to make some decisions regarding next year and I know that your open house isn't until May. You are welcome to email me privately. Thanks, Angie
  11. I would also suggest trying to email/contact the Demmes. They may have just the answer. Also supplementing with some other type of workbook and real life skills sounds great! I wouldn't give up on MUS until you've tried these other options.
  12. Ooh, I love this thread! I am dealing with all of this right now. No clothes that fit. . .hand-me-downs worn out and not nearly enough. Shoes, shoes and more shoes, double coats, boots, etc. Braces!!! Yep, it's definitely more difficult whenever we have to start paying for our twins to do something. Know what else is going to be expensive? Feminine products! I have 4 girls. My oldest is exactly 2 years older than my twins, who are developing at a quicker pace, so within the next year or 2 ALL three of the oldest will start using those products. And I thought diapers were expensive!!
  13. I'm in Plainfield! Are any of you in Heritage Builders (homeschool group out of Brownsburg)? I'm new to this side of town and trying to meet others. Angie
  14. I've been using it now for about 6 months now. I really love mine, although I bought the Precise brand from Amazon at a great price. Most favorite is the electric skillet, however I still burn things in it and can't figure out why! Food definitely tastes better cooked in it!
  15. I'm on the west side of Indy! Where are you? Angie
  16. WOW!! I love this!! Are they going to make one for each year plan??? Angie
