It's a Friday that portends an all-weekend meet- so much to get done today... coffee/paper dh off to work, dd2 off to school ds3 up and working bills laundry bathrooms dust, vacuum whole kitchen mop floor get ready for meet drive-time-watch dd2 swim home late Have a great day!

I never pay for early boarding and I don't care if I sit next to my travel companions. When I traveled with a kid (not a teen), people generally were accomodating. I always take the first available seat which is usually a middle seat in the first few rows. Occasionally, people are grumpy that they are losing an "empty seat." But most flights are full anyway. And if it really bothers you, fly another airlline. It is hard to claim you are saving a seat to someone in the C boarding group. And most people don't even try.

Ah the swim practice, breakfast, then nap. And then putting in the solid 60 minutes work... and then off to practice again. Yup, she's in law school now.

Home from babysitting, post office and library. There were complications with the holds- someone else with my name, checking out books I would never check out, so I decided to hyphenate my name at the library- hopefully that will solve the problem. The librarian was sort of irriated that I wanted to fix the problem- she said I could just check the ibrary card number- but I pointed out so could they, so the holds wouldn't be all mixed up together. A small irriation at the end of a wild babysitting day- too many kids in a small space, too many varying ages, too many moms moving in and out. I am tired and not very interested in doing much this afternoon. Going to chill and check conference swim results, read a little, and then get ready for a few chores.

Good morning! Fairly busy day here- dd2 has a meet this weekend, so I am hoping to get most of my work done before Friday at 2:30. Super cold today, but no snow. coffee/paper dd2 off to school take dh to work home to quick clean-up and getting ds3 up get ds3 working babysit library home to more school and chores ds3 to tennis read/handwork pick up ds3 not sure about dinner- need to check the freezer Have a great day!

Dd2 made it to the bb game- the high school is about 4 minutes from the house- so all is good. She can walk home if it is really bad 😁 Thanks all!

It has snowed all afternoon and it is still coming down and the roads are rough. Waiting for ds3 and then picking up dh. If you could- think some good thoughts for dd2 heading home from practice in about an hour.

((SKL)) ds3 is working. I have done some laundry- and dh wants to use his check for the last concert to buy some nice sheets (he hates the ones he picked out). Researched and found a coupon, so that is done. The old sheets (the ones I bought four years ago- at a discount store, Egyptian cotton percale- still wearing very well) back on the bed. Next up: lunch box for Goodwill pick up racquet from stringer ds to gym/tennis drop off box bank

My oldest three homeschooled through high school. My ds1 would have made a strong run at the laziest homeschooler award. He finished his work early so he could backpack around Europe for a few months. My next one was more conscientious but did as little as possible to keep me off her back. All she cared about was swimming and Olympic Trials her senior year. The next one was better, but mostly because I had been worn down... Ds1 graduated with honors in 4 ys despite missing two semesters for illness, dd2 graduated in three years, swimming D1, with honors and is now in law school, ds3 will double major and is doing well, despite a late diagnosed LD. They all got into every school they applied to (dd1 had 5 athletic scholarship offers). All of them received a better education than dd2 who is going to public school- taking various AP classes and being on the honor roll. A statement she freely admits is correct. My last child decided to be homeschooled for high school- I don't worry too much anymore.

Good morning! No morning practices today. dh just left- getting tired of the cold in the morning- but he insists a third car is not happening, so off he goes in 18 degree weather to bike to work. coffee/paper dd2 off to school school with ds3 shower, chores, general clean up and some decluttering read a little, check when library holds will be ready some sewing ds3 to tennis figure out dinner of some sort- probably pasta pick up ds3 relax tonight Have a great day!

Errand day today- although I did some yesterday- so the dog wouldn't starve. dh rode in, despite a dusting of snow, and dd2 headed out to the gym. coffee/paper electronic chores/bills school with ds3 daily chores grocery store run/lunch out more school ds3 tennis- needs to find a ride home read a little/handwork dh has choir not sure about dinner yet

Finished King Lear- really good. ds3 liked it, but said that it "killed the vibe of the day." Which was a little true, I guess. More school with ds3 Chatted with dd2, helped her finish off the tasks for the NCAA clearinghouse, and gave her my input on bikini shopping. Next up: clean up kitchen, do a couple of chores, and leave for PT

Errands finished. Eating lunch now and finishing watching King Lear with ds3. More school after that and then to PT

My brother and sister and I all either snuck out or lied about our whereabouts to our parents. Why? Mostly because our mother was super controlling and liked to use grounding as a punishment for teens. I am not sure what she was so afraid of-we weren't bad kids- just needed a little bit of freedom. This is why I don't use grounding as a punishment or say "no" to things as a knee jerk reaction. My dd2 says she is the only one of her friends that hasn't snuck out- because she doesn't have any need to. Curfew is flexible or non-existent depending on circumstance, she enables "find my friends" whenever she drives the group, and mostly I don't "freak out." The latest she has been in was after homecoming and New Years (1:30am or 2 am). Other than that, she is reliably in by 1 am- our house is small and I hear everything.

No school today,but dd2 went to am practice anyway. ds3 does have school to do today ( tournaments wreck the schedule), so it is a pretty regular day here. PT follow- up for ds3 later, no tennis this afternoon. coffee/read laundry (started) chores- I was lazy yesterday school for ds3 dd2 has electronic chores to do need gas and dog food hobby lobby? PT appointment leftover for dinner, I think Have a great day!

dd2 swam very well- hit her target time nearly exactly- so I got to take a happy girl to lunch. Home now, ds3 just left for tennis, and I plan to do some handwork and watch some TV. I should do some housework, but it will keep until tomorrow, I am sure.

Swim meet with dd2- the comeback races continue- today is the 400 IM that she hasn't swum in 2.5 years. So we will see how it goes. Then lunch out. home later for finishing up chores, laundry, etc ds3 has tennis relaxing a little dmil over tonight? Have a great day!

Also not sure what sort of dinner I have planned either... coffee/paper finish off weekly chores- might enlist some help work in sewing room- cut out pattern if ambitious, cut up scraps for blocks if not ds3 tennis talk a little more about fixing our kitchen issues with dh- "acknowledge the problem" happened yesterday-never thought that would happen read a little figure out dinner Have a great day!

Electronic chores done (bills and putting some $ into kids accounts for Valentine's Day). looking over ds3's work that he did last night- so he can play video games with a friend in Tx who is off from school today. ds1 found work as a cook in an new restaurant- so at least $ will be coming in- texted a little this morning Next up: clean kitchen have another cup of coffee check where lunch is- I think I know- but I haven't been there before

Happy Valentine's Day! Dh got some tulips and candy at TJ's last night before rehearsal ( that is a win for planning ahead for dh😁) and there will be sunshine today! I am meeting some family for my brother's birthday lunch this afternoon. dd2 is off today- she plans to sleep until noon. Reader- we loved Ford v. Good morning! It snowed about 5-6 inches last night and dd2 made it home safely from her "Galantine's Day" party with her friends. No late start or cancellation though, so it will be a slow drive to school this morning. dh and ds3 left early for skiing today.
