I didn't stretch yesterday. So I have to do it today along with MA.

I don't wash. I find hand quilting easier on unwashed fabric that still has the sizing treatment on it.
But for a rag quilt, I probably would wash.

I put a small chunk of raw turmeric root and then a small chunk of raw ginger through my garlic press, add it to a small pot of piping hot tea with half a lemon and then strain before I drink.
I'm *so* going to try this right now. Running to kitchen...

I think turmeric paired with black pepper for inflammation. I think it's totally placebo but I do use magnesium spray after a hot shower on irritated muscle areas. It does sting a little for a few minutes upon application. I try to have some bone broth daily (I make the broth with turmeric and black pepper). It's my kryptonite. That said, there seems to be no cure for DOMS resulting from trap work.
Today: same old. I'm also sore, tired.

The trainer worked me very hard today  I also did 15 min elliptical before and 30 min bike after. Zoiks I'm tired! I could really go for a soft chair and a book, but there's the kid here to edumacate so...
How do you feel this morning? LOL
Nothing exciting to report, just wanted to check in. I've been sticking with the gym 3 days a week. That's a big accomplishment for me. I am down 10 pounds since Christmas, mainly from exercise since my eating has not changed dramatically. 😃
Congratulations on your weight loss and your consistency of schedule!
I'm finally get back on track with exercising after breaking my foot a few months ago. I'm walking 3-4 kilometers in the morning and getting on the elliptical for 30 minutes after lunch. I need to add some yoga and strength training in sometime during the day, but just moving more makes me feel better.
Glad to hear your foot is feeling better.
Lol, good for you! Just keep telling yourself its a healthy challenge (the trying new things will be more of the challenge, I think)
I did that fitness blender lower body tabata workout. I love workouts like that that. I like alternating stuff and cardio and weights etc all in one workout, plus a bit of jumping around is always good! I will be doing that one again for sure.
I then did my 30 min tracy anderson beginner workout. If I get to the end of the week with this one I get to switch to the second workout on the disc. Supposedly when I am done all three workouts I should be strong enough to take on Meta, but I am not sure. I might go back to her precision toning dvd. I did that one for two or three weeks straight last summer, and I could actually see a difference in my abs and my butt looked fantastic. I have never actually seen results like they say you will.
Wait, you did the 1.5 hr tabata and then TA? What? That sounds crazy.
I went and it was fab, the lady actually knows yoga and it was all yoga (no pilates thrown in). This one is actually worth going back to, I just wish she had more class times that fit my schedule, she only has 2 evening classes and 1 night I'm busy right during the class. 1 class a week is a good start anyway, for my body and checkbook.
So much fun to try new things. I'm glad you liked it.
Nothing. I chose sleep rather than waking up too early, not that I got enough sleep, but at least I got a tiny bit more than I would have if I'd chosen to do a short workout.
Sleep, glorious sleep. I want me some more of that.
Today: same old.
I am still on track and going through all the motions, but not feeling the love right now. LOL It happens.

On another note, I did sleep well last night. :D

I'm using this bra and it works great for me but I'm built small.
The nikes are compression shorts. I found out other women are wearing underwear under theirs which I think is a little overkill. The only thing I'll say is to check the inside of undies for seams and where they may be rubbing. I do like them but still looking for the perfect pair of boyshort undies that are comfortable, don't ride up and don't stick to you when sweaty.

Today during my training session I squatted holding 35 lb :D
And then I also did 30 min on the elliptical. Didn't really want to, but forced myself.
Overhead squat? (Snatch?) Impressive!!!

Do any of you find that on really intense workout days you crave protein and then on rest days you crave carbs?
Yes!!!!
Yesterday was rest day and I ate waaaay more carbs than I normally do. I do notice on WO days I do crave more protein, especially on push/pull days. I just ate 4 eggs, a small bit of chicken, half an avocado and 1 banana for breakfast (and I still feel hungry).

I can't help you with the running questions, but you should come post and keep track of your progress on the exercise thread! :D
Good luck! You definitely can do this!

Another long "1000 calorie" workout. I had fun and feel great.....after my hot shower. ;)
That's crazy.
Today, WO stretch roll.

Yes, as soon as the early teen years began I noticed too that I was becoming more relaxed with meals. I still cook from scratch a lot but we have added lots of little conveniences too. :o

On any given day they are all at once exasperating, exhilarating, adorable, stunning, shocking, amazing, wise and funny and sweet.
YES! And when their friends come over and you have a house *full* of teenage boys, there goes the food budget.

Ugh, if I had the time this morning I would soak. What I really need is a massage therapist to follow me around all day, LOL.
Today, MA stretch roll.

I say 8 billion frequently. It is rarely because I'm having a scholarly conversation about the estimated world population in 2025.
MIne is 50,000.
Maybe I need to up the ante.

Masters swim workout 2x (75 min each) and one session of lap swimming (60 min). Erin O'Brien's Strong Body Fit Body DVD 3x during the week. I am really liking this DVD and am convinced strength training is a must as a woman ages.
I watched a 65 year old woman /neighbor try to negotiate the path down to my house and the uneven steps to my front door. The big steps were a challenge, and she needed a hand. Balance is a big issue. I realized if I want to live in my house into old age I need to stay fit.
You are totally on to something here.
P.S. Just to be fair to Mother Nature, it's a wonderful -4C today. I didn't bother with the winter coat at all, and neither did any of the dc. We're so used to -25C, that this feels almost tropical.
Yes, we had that happen too! LOL, you know it's been cold when -4C doesn't feel cold.
I have a goal of making it through her Meta program. But, I just can't imagine actually sticking with it for that long...and it is really hard. It seems like right when I feel like I am getting through something, BAM! something happens and I get sidetracked for a week and lose ground. So, the idea of making it through a 3 month program is  But I can dream
We'll hold you to it, keep you honest and cheer you on. :hurray:
Nothing. First day of our fast and I feel a bit overwhelmed. Need to make breakfast soon. The only way that I can get any form of exercise during this time is either to wake up even earlier than usual or to do something gentle later in the day, right before breaking the fast. I've done that before and have felt fine - swimming/stretching/even a mile of Leslie. It really depends on my hydration level, energy, and the heat.
Negin. I would never lose sleep to get exercise in, especially for us folk who sometimes struggle with getting enough sleep. :grouphug:
Today: WO stretch Roll.
I might be teaching a class soon. :gnorsi:

Yes, your goal is to do MMA and not sustain injuries from being inadequately conditioned. :boxing_smiley: (I say as I'm all bruised up from last week's training)
