  1. I am back from The Afsa. That place is my personal hell. And I forgot two items necessary for my recipe tonight. And COFFEE! ☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ I forgot to buy more COFFEE!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ Fortunately I am not close to being out, but I prefer to stock up in case of a zombie apocalypse or something. So, I will make tomorrow's dinner tonight, which will be burgers and tonight's dinner tomorrow which will be Thai chicken on skewers . Here's the recipe. No, I haven't tried it, but her Mongolian Beef in a crock pot was outstanding. http://therecipecritic.com/2017/05/thai-chicken-skewers/ And that's all I got.
  2. My girls have 3-4 seasonally. My boys haven't slept in pajamas for years. They shower in the evening, put in clean clothes, sleep in them, and they're ready to go in the morning.
  3. Yeah, see this gal doesn't have kids, either, so she doesn't have that to worry about. I taught school in Brazil for 2 years, and even though I lived on campus and was rather insulated from the ins and outs of managing every day life in that country, it was still kind of hard to get used to.
  4. Are you asking specifically public school? Or are you asking about not homeschooling?? We put our oldest in parochial school in 7th grade and he will enter Christian High School in the fall. It's not public school, but we decided to quit homeschooling him because he was just too difficult to work with and he did much much better in a classroom situation. The public schools in our area are not great and we are sacrificing to send him to private school. He would drown if we sent him to the local public high school. There are 450 kids in the freshman class and there are gangs and drug problems there, My second son we will homeschool all the way through because that's what he wants and we think that would be better for him. My girls... they will probably go to Christian High School. Most people in our small town that we homeschool with send their high schoolers to Christian High School. It's an old school and part of the roots and culture of many of us who live here.
  5. My dream is to do what Susan Branch did and vacation on Martha's Vineyard and never leave. She bought a little fixer-upper cottage (it helps of your ex-husband is fabulously wealthy and you have a nice divorce settlement, and no kids) and wrote her cookbook. Of course that would never happen to me because i don't plan on having an ex-husband and I already have a pile of kids, which would never work in a sweet little one-bedroom cottage in the woods,
  6. This girl I know (well, she's middle aged now, I grew up with her) lives on an island off of Nicaragua with her SO. They operate a B&B. At times this seems really appealing to me and at other times I'm like....no.... I just don't think so.
  7. Good Morning!!! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ Library Science IS a college degree and if you work at the library in my small town you'll do quite well. My library fines alone are enough to support a quite lavish lifestyle.
  8. I think she might need a little bunny oil!😜
  9. Well over half the songs on my "Doing the Dishes" playlist came out of the '70s. I never thought much good came out of the 1970's, but apparently good music did!!
  10. Ok, so.... here is my contribution. I would say in English...." Latin pronouns come from the devil" and say it in Latin..."pronomina Latina a diabolo venet."
  11. I've been thinking about this and .... I am still thinking. Because you can't translate word for word. It's about meaning. Which is why going from English to Latin is so difficult.
  12. COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ - It's not a question of "yes" or "no", but rather one of "one pot or two?"
  13. ((Spud)) I love the intended come-back. Made me laugh out loud!!😆
  14. There are a million songs out there to teach the books of the Bible. My preference is this one....https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ixMvFdeo-F0
  15. That's a fact. And what makes it even more confusing are the ones that are actually pronouns and then the ones that act like adjectives. And how to decline those?? I am studying the present tense passive voice and agency right now. I can do that.
  16. I need children who aren't pigs. Middle DD literally takes off her shoes or an article of clothing and just leaves it. Right there. There is mess everywhere in this house, I am just flummoxed. I swear it is a conspiracy. A conspiracy to drive me to the loonie bin.
  17. I am sadly behind in my Latin. I need to get going on that more consistently.
  18. Where is everyone this morning?? Are you guys all snuggled up on the couch with your little eager learners reading Living Books and having meaningful discussions about Hemmingway????
  19. Hmmmm, now that cup of COFFEE☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ didn't last very long. I wonder what happened?? Mockingbird. That's it!!
  20. Oops, I guess he got delayed a bit. Probably the kids. There he is, singing his little heart out. I love mockingbirds.
  21. Good Morning!!!! COFFEE!!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ No mockingbird this morning. I wonder where he went. All I hear is a little...something. Sparrow or a finch. It's Friday!!
  22. You are an alrightnik. Oops, no, you are not. I thought I knew what that word meant by the context, but then I looked it up and you most certainly are not an alrightnik. Educational post: context clues are not always correct. I am reading aloud "Dave at Night" by Gail Carson Levine to my DS and there's a bunch of Yiddish in there. I love Yiddish.
  23. Can I just say that I made some really really good boysenberry cobbler. And I just picked the berries this morning. Just call me Martha.
