Praying for you.

Another thing to check is to make absolutely sure your thread is threaded properly through all the little hooks and whirlibobs and doodlydoos. (Oh, I see Kitten18 just mentioned this, so I'll second it).
I am not an expert by any means, unfortunately. My mother tried to teach me when she was alive and I refused to learn. Now I'm wishing I had! It helps to have someone show you. Luckily my SIL helped me get started and now I can usually mess around a few times and figure it out.

Pecan is my favorite, but I also love pumpkin and dutch apple. I'm the pie maker at Thanksgiving. I love making pies.

:grouphug: Glad to hear the positive news.

Neither - I'm nauseated ;)

And Both Were Young by Madeleine L'Engle is a good book.

:hurray: Go, baby Adison!

I've never seen this show, but my computer shut down with no warning while I was reading this thread. Act of God, maybe? :D

She is, at 1:00 central time today, taking the Graduate Record Examination. I'm sure she is nervous and anxious for it to all be over. ;) She already has 2 professors who have heartily agreed to take her on as a grad assistant...doing interdisciplinary research with them on *Vertebrate Vectors of Slime Mold* :ack2: ... but she must pass this final hurdle. Thank you so much~
Praying!

Happy belated birthday! I'm glad the years have treated you so well! Hope you had a great day.

Hmmm...I tried it for a while but wasn't happy with the results. I used the Fels Naptha/washing soda/borax combination. I'm sure it was quite a bit cheaper than purchasing detergent in the bottle, but it didn't seem to get my clothes clean and it even damaged some things. So, no luck here.

Hugs, Nakia. One of our cats died several years ago, she was around 20. My dd was I think 3 1/2 or 4 at the time, and she took it very hard. She still likes to go out in the yard and put things on Chloe's grave...painted rocks and feathers and flowers and things. I let her do it since it makes her happy. We also got another cat fairly soon after Chloe died, and he's been a wonderful pet.

The Cascade Complete gel packs seem to work OK, same with Trader Joe's powder. Lately I've been using Method tablets along with Lemi-Shine, and the combo works really well. My glasses are very shiny.

I'm very sorry about poor Oscar :angelsad2: I'm a cat lover so I empathize totally.

We live at the dead end of a gravel road, and a SCHOOL BUS came around our cul-de-sac ninety to nothing and KILLED my beautiful Aussie, Buster.
It was probably very quick, as there was some pretty severe damage. My son and husband would not let me see him.
So senseless. I am really angry and upset. He was a WONDERFUL pet!
I'm so sorry :grouphug: What a horrible thing to have happen. I'd be calling the school district or someone to complain. A school bus has no right to be speeding like that...what if there had been kids there? So sorry about your poor dog :crying:

Very exciting! It sounds perfect to me.

 Another "aye" vote here! I think a gift like that would be very much appreciated. I know I'd love to eat homemade meals without having to do the cooking myself.

This is my big pet peeve too. And it seems like I know sooo many people who do this. I don't care as long if it's a mild cold, but fever, throwing up, major coughing? Stay home!

Check out the site in my signature, ThredUP - it's a site for exchanging gently used kids' clothes.
I do a lot of thrift store shopping for my kids. I'm lucky that we have some excellent thrift stores that I can usually find some very nice brands very inexpensively, plus they often have 50% off clothing sales. I do NOT shop Goodwill, though, they are way overpriced.
I also shop Children's Place and naartjie when they have sales. Sometimes I can get great deals there, and it's nice for buying dressier clothes or pj's. But yeah, I know the whole budget deal, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Luckily my kids have no problem wearing thrift store clothes, except I always need to buy new Levi's for my oldest to wear since he's super tall and skinny.

My picks:

Yes, what a great guy! What he did is a terrific accomplishment and something to be very proud of!
Where did you meet your (non-spouse) best friend?

I met mine 13 years ago; we were introduced by a mutual friend. The funny thing is that we lived just a few houses away from each other but we'd never met. Now we live about a 1/2 hour away from each other.
I have 2 other close friends that I've known for 20+ years - I met them both in church.
