OH man that is the worst. I am so so sorry. I still have such bad memories of when this happened to me and all the kids while dh was on business trip to China. I hope it goes through you guys quickly. That is just the worst.

Thanks so much for all the info. I know nothing about this. I think as a kid I was wanting to try this. But now I think it would be more for the kids to just try something else. Congrats to her!! Was it big competition?

Put in a grocery order. Looking at some plane tickets. Need to make a decision. Contacted a fencing place to see about taking lessons. We will see how expensive it is. Dh and the kids have been replacing the floor in our master bath all weekend. It isn't going well as he has never done this. Sigh. But the kids are learning too. Way ahead of where we both were as kids. In the past 4 years they have built a chicken coop that they designed, but a sprung dance floor, learned to change oil on our vans, put in a tile back splash in the kitchen, replaced all of our toilets, painted multiple rooms inside, done exterior painting, and done a lot of fixing the a/c, furnace, and the sump pump. Even the youngest is helping so I think it is all great learning experiences. Oh and want to know what the flooring was in our bathroom? ........... Carpet. Yep you read that right the builder put in carpet in our master bath. Other than the foot around the toilet it was carpet. So this is LONG overdue. Doing some spring break planning. Need to do some laundry and cleaning.

Dh got a raise. Double what he used to get. His bonus is now paid out 4 times a year instead of just once a year so March isn't as big of a deal to us. We need to get our taxes done.

Sounds great to get it out of the way first and just enjoy the rest of the weekend. Good luck to her. Keep me posted on her summer plans. We just got done with our audition season and all the twists and turns of it, now I can enjoy other people's journeys because the stress of ours is over. Do your younger kids want to compete too? We were thinking about doing competitions but the cost to do it was high and then doing that for 5 kids was just nuts. So we focused on auditions which also really added up for all of them. But we are really glad we made that choice. Maybe someday we will do competitions.

@hjffkj Awww Congrats to her, they were both really good. The second piece was so fun to watch. Is she done with competitions for the weekend and just doing master classes? Are you thinking of sending her away this summer? Good luck to her this weekend! I hope she places well.

That was rude. I never complain about someone else making me food! You realize how nice that is to have a time off of cooking. Sorry he reacted like that.

I never used those for my kids. I had a family member knit or crochet blankets for my kids and they were beautiful but totally impractical. Not safe as little fingers and toes can get wrapped up in them. They didn't hold up to washing, and you know that babies are a total mess. So we saved them and put them on backs of chairs or once in awhile would wrap that handmade blanket around the baby that was already wrapped in a regular blanket when we were with them at all times, say in a stroller. Or use in a photo session. And yeah I wouldn't give a baby anything that had eyes like that. Heck even a toddler is not safe with things like that. Ask me how I know.

How exciting to go for the first time. I love Rome and Florence. I hope he has a great trip.
