  1. Great to wake up and read more encouraging words. To those who posted in the regrets post- I had started reading there and went on a bunny trail through many other threads on the WTM. I am sorry, I hope I didn't offend anyone with mentioning that thread!
  2. Thank you all for taking the time to write. I needed this.
  3. After reading through the " regrets " thread( and some other threads) I came away feeling a bit discouraged. Anyone have time to remind me that homeschooling IS worth it? And we won't mess our dc up by not putting them into ps? * I realize the "regrets" thread was a harmless thread asking for parenting/ school regrets. I have felt discouraged lately so a few things I read- along with a rabbit trail to other threads, sent me looking for encouraging words ; )
  4. Thanks, Walking-In Iris.....we have been following the Bravewriter lifestyle, as well. That is why I was curious of your plan. I appreciate what you shared.
  5. As someone with a dc the same age I would love to hear what those plans are : )
  6. I can't get the coupon to work. Could it be because I am using my educator discount, too?
  7. My dc's 5th grade writing class teacher gave them homework and said "remember your constants" and I also saw the initials FCA on their papers. Trouble is, my dc cannot tell me what that means. Any ideas would be appreciated. : )
  8. The book (Hold onto your Kids: Why parents should matter more than peers) by Gordon Neufeld has a great chapter on this subject. I couldn't do the author justice, but if your library has it it's a great book.
  9. Houseofkids&pets.... I tried to message you, but couldn't get it to send. From a post you wrote about the writing your co-op uses , and from your reply above, I'm thinking we might be in the same co-op! Maybe not, but if so, small world. : )
  10. Maybe Essentials in Writing? Lots of hand holding, and my IEW reluctant boys like it.
  11. For my son's homeschool writing class he is supposed to read a realistic adventure. He was hoping to read The Hrady Boys, but was told that it's not an adventure. Help! Suggestions? Much thanks!
  12. For our homeschool writing class, my son needs to choose a realistic adventure book. The teacher said that Hardy Boys is not adventure ( and that's what he was planning on reading). Help! Any suggestions? Much thanks!
  13. For our homeschool writing class, my son needs to choose a realistic adventure book. The teacher said that Hardy Boys is not adventure ( and that's what he was planning on reading). Help! Any suggestions? Much thanks!
  14. Mine came with a cd with the worksheets. Has this changed? We are doing level 5
  15. thank you for all your thoughts! Helpful!
  16. why I gave up homeschooling I love homeschooling, but sometimes the thoughts of what my kids may be missing(academically or socially) makes me sad. It's that time of year where I question things and honestly just feel burned out. I'm jealous of those who have good options(like the blogger does). Just expressing thoughts, please don't slam me. Anyone else go through these worries and wonders?
