  1. :iagree:me too! hadn't thought of the not being noticed as a confirmation....well said!
  2. :iagree: i deleted mine due to family annoyances/issues. I did find myself on it for absolutely no reason and it was a time sucker. If I were to go back on I would unfriend my entire family first! for me, unfriending certain people (especially the ones on a ton like my MIL) would bring the phone calls/questions of what happened blah blah. It is taken as a personal slight for the most part. you can block posts from people if they are too much... good luck!:grouphug:
  3. Looking to start primary math 1A and was curious...does everyone use the US version? Do you need the workbook, textbook and home instructors guide for all levels? ( I realize the higher levels would probably require the instructors guide unless you a math whiz! :-) ) Thanks! :001_smile: Lynn
  4. Thank you for letting everyone know, I am so so sorry this has happened! i have had several wonderful experiences purchasing on this forum and I hope people still can! Thank you to those legitimate mamas!:grouphug:
  5. IEW has a phonics program...has anyone heard or used it? http://www.excellenceinwriting.com/pal-rc :) Lynn
  6. I am in the same place! Trying to figure out what math direction! I want something that teaches math rules if that even applies in first grade?
  7. Hi, Is anyone doing Classical Conversations with TOG? If so, does the history/geography (anything else?) line up somewhat? complement each other? Just wondering if it would work well together? :grouphug: Lynn
  8. Okay, I need to clarify....how do other math programs teach place value?
  9. Hello, We have math-u-see alpha for my almost 6 yr old. I went back to primer because she didnt understand the part about unit placement. 100's, 10's etc. It's that part where he explains about writing numbers like 125. Anyways, she just doesn't get it and I was wondering how other k-1 math programs might approach the concepts of larger numbers. Is this the common approach? Am I making sense? Lynn
  10. I just send that question to the company and this was the response The Basic Interactive Kits are nearly identical, so you would only need a set of Divider Cards from whichever Kit you did not buy.* The letter tiles, magnets, and phonogram CD-ROM are the same.* If you are looking at the Deluxe Kits, you may want some of the optional items such as the box or stickers from the other deluxe kit.* I hope this helps!* Please let us know if you have additional questions. Sincerely, * Merry Customer Care Representative All About Learning Press, Inc. Hope that helps! Lynn
  11. Most helpful ladies...thank you!
  12. I understand the pain of curriculum switching! I try to find the one that fits the best and modify where necessary. I, personally, did not care for MFW. It did not click for us. Good luck!
  13. Is there really a difference between the two? :)
  14. right there with you!!! :tongue_smilie: Starting classican conversations and associated curriculum this fall....should be pretty consistent from that point on!
  15. Hi, i am trying to find a more comprehensive program for reading and spelling. I know alot of people here recommend AAS and I am looking at that. Can I get more information on phonics road? Easy to use (for me?) good at teaching rules? Pros cons? I know its pricey, so I want to make sure before I make a purchase... Thank you!! Lynn
  16. Thank you everyone! I wonder if I looked at the wrong level. I will look at it in kmore depth before switching!:001_smile:
  17. My daughter will be "technically" first grade this fall and we will be starting CC foundations. We have been using Horizons Math, but now looking into CC and the classical methodology, I am looking at switching to Saxon Math. The kindergarten book looks so so different and actually very challenging. I wonder if I should start her there so to completely cover anything. For those of you that use Saxon Math, do you find it more indepth in some areas that may not be covered in other curriculums? would love your opinions... :) Lynn
  18. Thank you....so wait on Latin, and yes, I did forget science...not sure what to pursue there....
  19. Hi there! I am planning on CC Foundations for my 6 yr old this fall, possibly my 4 yr old... I am looking to supplement to compliment this class. Can I ask what you supplement? So far I am looking at SOTW, Saxon math, handwriting with out tears, latin (memoria or veritas?) reading ...too much? Do you do it all very day? Thank you! Lynn
  20. Just wanted to post this in case anyone uses or is interested in using Calvert Curriculum...30% off right now https://store.calvertschool.org/ :) Lynn
  21. I have also been researching Classical Conversations and just went to a campus to observe. I highly recommend it. Here is my thread on CC. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=349174&highlight=classical+conversations good luck! :)
