  1. @HomeAgain, sounds like things are progressing nicely!! So happy for your ds and you! @ScoutTN, congrats on him passing, and happy early birthday! My sister went out this morning, and I stayed here with Daddy. He ended up taking a morning nap, so I did some school work. We went out to lunch, and we'll go out to dinner, too. I need to start packing some stuff up and pack my toiletries with clothes for tomorrow so we don't have to take as much in the next hotel. I'll be home Sunday!
  2. @ScoutTN, mathematics badge??!!! That sounds like fun!
  3. @TheReaderHe is a lot of fun! We called him our live in laugh machine as he was growing up.
  4. @HomeAgain, what an honor to have been chosen!!! I hope he will be happy with whatever decision he makes! @TravelingChris, praying you figure out the best situation while dh is gone. @prairiewindmomma, I'm sorry for the insurance woes! Happy Pi Day!!! We are going to get a pie for dessert when we go out soon. We have really enjoyed our trip so far. We visited a train depot museum and the Okefenokee wildlife refuge on our way down. We are relaxing and enjoying the island here in Florida. My sister has been here a few times before and loves it. She is considering renting a house this fall and early winter to see what living here is like because she might consider moving here. Ds says his trip has been amazing. He's sent a few pictures, so I'll post some.
  5. Hi, everyone! We are having a beautiful day for our drive to south GA! We stopped at Buc-ee’s because my sister and dad had never gone to one. We stopped at a pecan/peach orchard, too. Ds is having a great trip, but there has been a lot of rain. They saw Florence yesterday and Pompeii today. They just got to Sorrento, and ds said it is absolutely gorgeous.
  6. We had lunch. Everything is packed. While working on bills and the big budget book, I opened what I thought was the monthly statement from our mortgage company. It was the escrow analysis. It included a check for $600 and our payment is going down $106 a month!!! WooHoo!! What a surprise and blessing!
  7. I leave today on the trip with my dad and sister! We went to church for dh to teach his class and just got home. Dh stayed afterward talking with the young adult pastor, who attends the class. That pastor wants to get more young adults to hear dh's teaching, but the trick is finding a day/time/space that more will attend. Our church has had a big boom in attendance, and our space is limited. And young adults aren't known for being early risers on days they don't "have" to. LOL! I need to pack for the trip, although my school stuff is already in a crate ready to go. I'll make lunch in a bit (chicken stir fry from Costco with more veggies and rice).
  8. @Ausmumof3, it was Carbona Color Remover in the laundry aisle. So glad to have you here with us on days you can join in!
  9. @mommyoffive and @ScoutTN, it is raining here but wasn't this morning. It was nice to get out and get a walk in first. I'm about done with laundry. I've done some schoolwork and had lunch. I just talked to a mom from my old co-op about enrolling her son in my 7th grade/middle school math class next year. She thinks it will be a great fit for him! That fills the 8th and last spot for that class. For some reason, I don't have much interest in pre-algebra next year. All the people I know have kids falling younger and older than that. I do have one sibling who needs it, but I can't offer a class for just one. Honestly, with other classes so full, that's one less time slot to cover on Mondays/Wednesdays.
  10. @HomeAgain, I hope you all feel better soon! Zoom session done. Load of laundry in dryer and about to start another washing
  11. I slept in today, so I need to get busy. This list is really for two days. I need to be ready to go by Saturday night. Tonight we go to dinner with college friends because one of the original gang from our freshman year is getting married for the first time tomorrow. one Zoom session possibly walk with a friend shower/get dressed laundry lots of school stuff to do with me being gone next week (grading, lesson plans, making videos for two classes, etc.) pay bills/update big budget book meal plan for dh while I'm gone grocery list/shop get a card for a wedding gift pack for trip pre-wedding dinner tonight wedding tomorrow tidy house/clean anywhere that particularly needs it before I'm gone all week
  12. Ds leaves today for Italy! They will go to Florence, the ruins of Pompeii, Sorrento, the Amalfi Drive, the island of Capril (Blue Grotto), and Rome. He had a major fiasco last night. He bought new clothes for the trip and washed them. Someone before him must have washed reds because he ended up with several things ruined despite nothing red in his load. I was at the painting class, so a friend told me all about the dye/color remover products. I had never heard of them, so I told ds what to buy and do thanks to her. It came out of almost all of it! He was so stressed with so much to do to get ready to go (including homework for other classes).
  13. @SKL, I'm so sorry about your kid's problems! Praying she improves and takes the doctor's advice. Done so far: breakfast and lunch for dh Bible study showered and dressed 4 Zoom sessions with individual students food project at church lunch out with a friend who helped me at church Still to go: bit of prep for next student in-person student decide on dinner contact E's mother about picking her up (She and I are going to a painting class tonight.) make and have dinner pick up E for the class and enjoy it take her home clean up kitchen if dh hasn't relax and watch something
  14. @HomeAgain, I hope your sinuses get better! @TheReader, glad your mom is home, but I'm sorry about the relationship situation! It was good getting to see ds this afternoon. He still wanted a couple of clothes items, but he had a lot of homework. He'll go on his own tomorrow. We got a travel adapter and travel toiletries. I took the money belt and a large travel backpack to him. I got a different plan for his phone that will allow international calling. I loaded my credit card into his Apple Pay so he has a backup payment method. The kids were relatively good at church. I've been doing some prep for tomorrow.
  15. Good morning! Dh is off to work with his food. Bible study 4 Zoom sessions coffee and food somewhere in between going up to see ds and take a few things to him for his trip dinner with him if he has time or on my own if not work in the 5 year old room tonight at church prep for school tomorrow watch something and relax
  16. I'm so sorry you are having to face that! Praying for you and them!
  17. Dinner out with my friend was nice! The only work I did on physics was pull out all the paper work I had and what was in ds's high school box from when he took the class. I organized the paperwork by chapter and looked at the lab information that was there. That co-op didn't meet weekly, and we only did labs once a quarter. This co-op will want more but not necessarily weekly. I've been grading and emailing a lot this evening. I talked to my sister. She is very upset with her former mother-in-law. Her husband's birthday would have been this week, and the MIL kept texting my sister pictures of the grave with the flowers she put on it. My sister has asked her not to send her pictures of it, but she keeps doing it. This week will also be a year since FIL died, so that isn't helping MIL and why my sister isn't really addressing the issue.
  18. Good morning! Dh is off to school with his food for the day. He works tonight. Bible study 2 Zoom sessions work on the list of physics chapters we'll cover and experiments to do school prep for tomorrow laundry food for me dinner out with a friend finish grading/emailing watch something and relax
