  1. He refuses to believe he's going to be fine (they caught both cancers early on.). I guess planning his funeral is some bizarre therapeutic activity. It gives him some sense of control over it, even though he knows he really isn't.
  2. I still have a blank email page. I can login on other devices, but not on my iPad. Many other people posted about this problem on the Yahoo forum, but no solution has been given. Very strange.
  3. The smell of peanut butter makes me recoil and run in the opposite direction, so it does not enter our domicile.
  4. Oddly enough, Ram Man and I were just discussing this last night. He was just diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on his forehead and today, when he went in for a complete exam, they found an area of suspected melanoma on his back. His chronic anxiety disorder is kicking in to high drive and he is planning his funeral again. I'm all about direct cremation and popping me into a discount urn or burying me somewhere. Ram keeps changing his plans, but they are always expensive.
  5. How did you fix it? The only thing on my page is the search engine box. The rest of my page is literally blank. Thanks!
  6. I have been trying to check my email on my iPad since yesterday afternoon. I tap on the yahoo app, it takes me to the homepage, with all the news headlines, then when I tap the envelope icon in the upper right hand corner, it loads to a completely blank page. What's up with that? I have tried rebooting it, but that doesn't help.
  7. Thanks, Peach. I know this is going to sound stupid, but what would it look like going through my browser to upload? If I tap on Safari, enter Google Drivr into the search box, and click on My Drive in the results? Is that the correct process?
  8. I have figured out how to move things from GoodReader over to Google Drive, but it is taking forever to do it. I have some zip files that are literally taking hours to transfer. Is that normal?
  9. So, for those of you who are in the know, Is the older version of Fix It still good to use if you don't need a complete grammar program, or is the new version so incredibly awesome that everyone should jump on board? I bought the older version, used, just before I found out there was going to be a new one.
  10. I can think of a few reasons for her not working/wanting to move... Perhaps they are going through infertility and she sees a lot of happy families in the current neighborhood and just can't bear it any longer... Mental illness or physical illness...I know when I was dealing with IBS, I would want to stay near my bathroom for hours after I ate... Perhaps they are trying to adopt...fielding calls from social workers and adoption agencies can be a full time job... Perhaps she has some sort of criminal record, even a tragic accident, that will follow her every time she applies for a job due to background check... Could there be an ill relative she helps with? Maybe she's a super-secret super spy waiting for her next assignment... Perhaps that was something they simply agreed upon when they got married... Maybe she's a work-from-home call girl-type Agoraphobia? She could have a compromised immune system... She's on the run from the authorities... She's a victim of human trafficking... So those are just a few ideas that popped into my head. Probably not a single one of them is the true reason. sometimes brainstorming helps me realize that I don't know and can't know what is going on in a person's life, and unless a person could be in jeopardy, it really is none of my business. People are odd and quirky. I know I am!
  11. Is there something else that is much easier to use with lots of storage for a low price? I'm open to suggestions, but I would like to know my files will be available when needed and that they won't disappear somewhere if an app company I use suddenly goes belly up and disappears.
  12. When I first read your title, I thought is said Weasley. I was wondering which one, Ron, Fred, George...etc.
  13. I am on an iPad and the screen shots I'm looking at are from the Google apps learning center site. I am trying to get all of my PDFs and zip files off my device and into an easily accessible cloud, so I can free up space on the iPad. The files are currently on Adobe, iUnarchive, and GoodReader. Am I trying to do the impossible?
  14. :grouphug: right back at you! I hope and pray the answer to your heartburn/discomfort is found quickly and is easy to treat.
  15. Help, please! I have been banging my head against a brick wall all day trying to figure this out. I downloaded the google drive app. I signed in to Google. Now what? I am looking at screen shots on the Internet, supposedly showing how to use it, but my screen doesn't look like their screen. They have a nice big "New" in the upper left hand corner in red letters. I do not have the word New on any of my screens, red or otherwise. Sniff. Sniff. How do I get it to say new for me, too? I am seriously ready to cry in frustration. I feel like such a tech failure.
  16. Those were two of Ram Man's first symptoms for esophageal cancer.
  17. I'm so sorry for all of you during this time of grief and adjustment. What a smart boy you were blessed with! :grouphug:
  18. My desktop is currently giving me fits. It is attempting to do an update, but it is stuck. I can't even get it to respond to F8 to boot it in Safe Mode. It will be going in to the computer people tomorrow. Most of my memory is for homeschooling PDFs on Adobe, GoodReader (which I absolutely loathe), and iUnarchive (which I really like). I need to shift all of the currently unused files over to the iCloud, but I can't figure out what to do. GoodReader keeps telling me to use the Connect button, but it doesn't show me what the connect button looks like and every time I tap around to try to find it, a file opens, and the margins get all funky and I can't get out of it. If someone can tell me the easiest way to connect with my iCloud and get everything transferred over, without causing me any more grey hair, I would be very grateful.
  19. Oh, I hope it's a one and done. Ram's oncologist with the Cleveland Clinic just moved to a campus in Florida, so he is in panic mode.
  20. PTL that you are safe! :grouphug:
  21. Ram Man has had a patch of funky looking skin that I kept telling him was ringworm. Since one of the boys is currently being treated, it made sense. After treating with fungal cream for three weeks, he trotted off to the dermatologist's office and had it biopsied. It is Squamous cell carcinoma. He is freaking out, as he has been in remission for two years from a different type of cancer. I am never going to live this one down. Ringworm, indeed. Tell me what happens next.
  22. Egads! I have wasted my entire morning trying to figure out Google Drive.
  23. I love to escape from the kids and eat in bed/on the bed. I usually don't eat dinner until after they all turn in at about 9:30, so I combine my dinner with a good book. We have a really firm mattress, so I could even set my water glass on the bed and not worry about it. As for crumbs, whatever hits the bed is hoovered up immediately by the four dogs who are sitting on the bed, waiting for a delectable morsel to drop. Yes, we have dogs who sleep on the bed, and one even sleeps under the covers. We have never had a problem with bugs in the bedroom.
  24. So after reading some reviews, I opted to download Google Drive instead. I had signed up for extra iCloud storage directly on my iPad, but it apparently wasn't being used. Do I need to keep this storage option, or can I go back to just the normal setting, rather than paying 99 cents per month for the extra 50GB? Off to try to figure out Drive now.
