  1. When I get overwhelmed with my house I use the Flylady emergency cleaning method. You pick 3 rooms and work on each room for 15 minutes utilizing a timer. At the end of 45 minutes take a 15 minute break. Then start over again on room one. Cycle through the rooms until one is done and then add a new room to replace it.

Maybe I didn't explain that very well. Here is the flylady link on crisis cleaning:

Tips: I do 20 intervals instead of 15. Also, I usually have a lot of emails/paperwor/phone calls to catch up on when things get out of control. So I usually make that my third area. I work two rooms and make my third room the correspondences. That way I feel like I'm not getting behind in life while focusing on my house.

    Go get 'em!

  2. If you're pulling up stakes every night and moving, I wouldn't camp. The KOA cabins wouldn't be a bad option if you can find them on your route. Driving all day, setting up camp, and pulling up stakes early the next morning while trying to feed kids is SO much work. Especially when no one sleeps great. I know from experience. :glare:

I do love camping, if we're actually camping. But not as accommodations on a road trip.

:iagree: I love road trips. I love camping. I don't like combining the two.

I vote for cabin or hotels.

    Have fun!

  3. So cute! Looks great.

I would stage the area though. Can you add a chair and put a book open on the desk like you were reading there. I would add a coffee cup too, so potential buyers could see themselves sitting there doing office work or Bible study.

Also on left it looks like a cord running down the wall from the shelves. Can you move the bouquet of flowers to hid the cord?

Lastly, I love, love the shelves and love your bins.

  4. Your local Costco will have movie tickets for theaters in your area. For example - maybe 4 tickets for $40 instead of the box office price of $50. They have coupons for everything now - I was really surprised at my last visit. It does depend on the area you are in. For example, at my mother's Costco in CT they had discount tickets for lots of things happening in NY. So maybe these aren't available online?

Thank you. My dh does the weely Costco run so I haven't been there is awhile. I need to go check that out. Thanks!

  5. My neighbor used to put her garbage in our can each week. Not a big deal. She grew up in the recession and recycled, reused and composed everything. They only had one bag of trash per week so it didn't make sense for them to have a garbage truck come pick up the one bag. She was upfront about it though and asked if it was okay.

I think you should work out a deal with your neighbor. Think of the gas the trash truck will use to come and pick up his one bag of trash. Not good for environment.

  6. Sort of - I used a menu planning service for a break, emeals.com. They sent me a grocery shopping list and 6 recipes each week. It was not the healthiest food, but so easy. Most the meals were ready in 20 minutes, which for me was quicker than running out for fast food. I used the low-carb plan at Walmart and I still use some of the recipes. I also tried the portion control plan since it includes WW points. It was such a great break. Loved it!!

  7. We do wraps when we travel. My children's favorite is Cesar salad dressing, chicken, Parmesan cheese and lettuce. We also do steak wraps too, and I buy the meat precooked. Easy! I guess you can use some sort of vegetarian protein instead of meat.

Pasta salads are great on the road. I made a huge chickpea dijoin pasta salad and we had that with French bread for dinner last road trip.

Do you do eggs or tuna? I like to hard boil a dozen eggs before a trip. They are great for snacks or egg salad sandwiches.

I know you have breakfast covered, but mini bagels with cream cheese are great for breakfast or snacks.

    Have fun!

  8. We just got back from a camping trip and the simplier the better. My camping musts are an air mattress for me and my dh, lantern, and inexpensive propane burner.

If it is cold in the mornings you are going to want something hot to drink right away. The propane stove is great for heating water. Much faster than building a fire and waiting for the water to boil. Also if we are going hiking all day I like to start my children out with some protein like eggs and sausage. The propane burner cooks eggs wonderfully. I bought some pans from the thrift store but you can bring your own: one fry pan and a stock pot for water will do it.

The lantern is helpful at night expecially if it is dark when you are cleaning up the camp site. At camp grounds with bears you need to put everything away in your car or a bear box at night. It is so much easier to have a latern lighting the camp site than trying to clean up holding a flash light.

My children use the skewers to roast marshmellows and hot dogs.

I prep as much food at home as possible so all we really do camping is to reheat: brown sausage for breakfast, brown ground beef for hobos, hard boil eggs for lunch, cut up tons of veggies and wash fruit at home.

My children's favorite camping dinner are hobos: on a sheet of non-stick heavy duty tin foil add little butter, ground beef, onion, potatoes cut small, corn, and carrots. Make individual packs and put packs over coals for 1/2 hour until everything is cooked through. You can also cook corn-on the cob that way, shuck first and wrap in foil.

My friend saves her dryer lint for an easy fire starter.

    Have fun!

P.S. If you think it is going to rain then I would spring for air mattresses for the children. We had a full night of rain and a leaky tent. Our kids stayed dry since they were off the ground on air mattresses. They are expensive but will last forever. We have had ours over 10 years and they are still going strong. Our friend use cots instead of air mattresses since they had them already for over night guests.

  9. I just went camping with someone that told me about chem free method. Heat one cup white vinegar until hot. Add 1 cup blue Dawn. Shake in spray bottle. Spray on soap scum. Wait 30 minutes and scrub. Here is some more info:

I love Mr. Clean Magic Erase for the glass doors. Takes the scum right off with little effort.

Use bleach mixed with water for mold, (5:1 ratio).

    Good luck!

  10. I usually have one of these with fruit on the side: an egg white omlet with cheese in a low-carb wrap, oatmeal with raisins or chopped apple, nuts and cinnamon, or smoothie made with skim milk, protein powder, frozen fruit and scoop of chia seeds.

I just got hired by WW to work one day a week weighing in members. So excited to be part of WW team!

  11. I would get 3 quotes. My oldest was more complicated yet his quotes came within $100 of each other. My youngest was straight forward and there was a $800 difference between highest and lowest quote. Also something that one of the orthos told me didn't make sense based on what the other two orthos told me.

I would definitely get a 2nd/3rd opinion before pulling teeth.
