Our upstairs has heat coming out of the ceiling, but your idea is good for the first floor.

I don't know about living in the desert, but in New England, even when the water is piled deep in the yard, the relative humidity in the house is about 5%. This is very hard on musical instruments and on parts of the body hard to moisturize with lotion such as the throat, eyes and nose. Humidifying also the air makes us feel warmer. I am not looking for 80% humidity, just something in the comfortable range for people and pianos.

We do these things too. The house is too big for this to be enough. It is very dry here for several months a year, so for us storing a couple units would be worth it.

Our whole-house humidifier did a wonderful job for years, but it doesn't work now, and repairing that is major. A long time ago we had cool-mist units, but I know we became unhappy with that. The units that heat water grew mold--or something? The whole-house unit worked for so long that I don't remember what we liked before. Also, new options probably exist.

Our littles sorted laundry into piles and paired socks. Emptying the dishwasher was another early chore, but I am not sure whether we started that by 3.

At least you won't have to deal with unplanned-for food arriving as house gifts!

Common App: They won't mess with the submitted documents, and the Optional Report can deal with this.

It is really a fine set up with plenty of opportunities to see what your documents look like before sending. It is more idiot-proof now than when I used it two years ago, but you know that saying about building a better idiot. I am sure you will do fine!

They also evaluated the issue of counselors submitting updated or incorrect documents. Unfortunately, in these cases, the Common Application organization must reiterate the policy that documents cannot be retrieved or edited once submitted. Schools are aware that mistakes happen and students are not penalized. < Counselors: The Optional Report may be used at any point in the academic year to submit updated grades and/or transcripts, as well as to correct errors previously submitted on any recommendation form, but it should not be used as a substitute for the Mid Year or Final Report. Keep in mind that this Optional Report form can only be submitted once during the school season.

You remember this woman because of kindness to your son, which was a form of comfort to you. By attending her service you are acknowledging that and also reciprocating. I am certain the family will be touched to see you there. I am touched just reading about it.

Poll wouldn't let me vote, since I have never posted in the forums (?) My daughter received little welcome packages in the mail from several schools. Other schools sent email. If she was ever notified on the portal, I think she received an email telling her to check the portal. This was two years ago.

When I was in college I lived in a house of fifteen females. Four were named Karen. I don't meet many young Karens now, but I did see a teen Karen recently.

It wouldn't bother me. I would pop the dish into the refrigerator to be looked at when I had time, probably the next day. If the bringer were bent out of shape that the dish doesn't appear on the table that meal, then I would be bothered.

I thought I was sending a document to fellow boarders, but I finally noticed the notification that I am not permitted to upload that sort of document. It is a docx, not too big. Does anyone know what sort of document I can send or how to change that?
