I agree! I think you hit the nail on the head; the term Progressive Christian is very broad indeed. It’s more of a philosophical way of viewing life than an organized religion with a set of beliefs. I really like the Thomas Jefferson Bible.
I do consider myself a Christian, of which variety I am not sure anymore. I do believe in the Bible and Jesus and many “fundamentals†as well. But I don’t really fit into any box at the current time. I feel as if I am on a journey, letting God lead me. I have enjoyed some of the principals of Unity and I enjoy reading the Daily Word, in a nondenominational sort of way. I like that’s it always based on a scripture and I find it to be very uplifting. I don’t believe in reincarnation, personally, so I don't think I would feel comfortable attending a Unity Church. However, I believe in the power of “positive†practice (prayer, thinking, affirmations, etc) and I feel that there is much truth to these practices, and that physics come into play as well. I feel comfortable combining those practices with my version of Christianity. So I guess I can post here too.
