  1. Oh, shoot. I can tell it's the right section, but my brain's just not turned on enough to find it tonight. Thank you, though--I'll use this site when I'm awake. AND--I had no idea the find function worked online *at all.* You've rocked my world! :D
  2. No, it's in The Republic. Plato is talking about different kinds of rulers & different types of government.
  3. Something about a tyrant making enemies even of his friends because he trusts no one...? Can you help me find it? TIA!
  4. OP, your advent calendar is adorable! I don't have ideas for you, but when I want projects like that, I google ea one. So for "lamb," I'd google lamb pics, lamb projects, etc. Insert ages of kids if relevant--for ex, preschool projects will be easier to find. Glue cotton balls on lamb print-outs, etc. GL!
  5. Wow. Will you understand if I quote Doc Holliday & say, "You may be the devil." ;)
  6. Actually, I had dh call her so that his # would show up on her phone & she'd SEE she'd dialed wrong. And yes, it's all worked out. :001_smile: It's just...surprising to wake up to...YOU'RE AN EVIL SCAMMER email.
  7. It's a cell phone, so that part's not her fault. I *would* like to know why she needed to call at 7:30AM, though! That poor CA guy...
  8. Because she mis-dialed dh's phone # & got someone in CA. :glare::lol:
  9. Do you know if their diapers are always off like this? I'm reading about block feeding on another site--I'd never heard of it--& that's what I've always done naturally. I can't believe I've never heard of this, but the descriptions perfectly fit *all* of my babies. :( Especially this one. The measurements listed are really helpful--when baby was in NICU, I pumped 6oz when he was 3 or 4 days old. Last week, I could get that much *after* a feeding. (Why? So much milk, I had to pump.) I always thought that, while annoying, that was a good thing. It's really not normal for a baby to get sprayed in the face if he pulls off? :tongue_smilie:
  10. I read the link in another thread, but can one of you tell me more about this? What is the solution? Even w/ block feeding, wouldn't baby still be getting too much foremilk? Is there a way to test/change the ratio?
  11. has stopped working for me. I finally tried Yahoo, & it's not working. :glare: Dh thinks it's my computer now--mapquest wouldn't work either. So normally, to get directions/distance, I type my address & the destination into google. I get a highlighted route plus verbal directions. Now? I get a purple arrow at my house & an A arrow at the destination, but nothing else. What could be wrong?
  12. I think I want a few more days to clean off my shelves...other than that...mmm...cookies. :D
  13. I think it depends on what you can afford & the relationship. Diapers are almost always appreciated. A small gift card can be combined w/ other gift cards by the recipient to purchase a larger gift. Handmade baby blankets: I think this can go both ways. If you're close enough, it's a treasure just because of the relationship it represents. Otherwise...taste in blankets can vary a lot, & after 7 dc...a person might have a LOT of baby blankets.
  14. Anybody interested? I've got some that are probably expensive to ship (heavy) & w/out a Half Price Books around...I'm not sure what to do w/ them. We could add cookies to the deal, if you want, & then it would be holiday-themed. :D
  15. She cheated on him WITH HIS BEST FRIEND? At least she can have the tattoo removed (although after having it photographed & posting it online, what's the point?); he can't *pay* to fix what she's done to him. AND she signed a piece of paper allowing him to decide what to tattoo on her. I think she's pretty lucky it's as aesthetically pleasing as it IS. ;)
  16. I use some pdfs, but we can see those on the laptop (ugh), & I don't see how an ipad would prevent me from printing worksheets. Although I'd LOVE to know. :D
  17. My scrubs are too little. :( But they *almost* fit. When #4 was little, I had him in a sling. A neighbor kid came up & asked me if I was nursing. I was SHOCKED, until I realized I was wearing scrubs, English was not his 1st language, & he meant, "Are you a nurse?" :lol:
  18. You're funny! Yes, I'd much rather get an ipad, & knowing the books for it are cheaper is somewhat compelling. I'm afraid we wouldn't save enough to make up the difference in initial cost, though. ;)
