  1. DD is 8 and she and I want to learn to sew. Hand first, then maybe machine. I appreciate it!
  2. If I were you, I'd check out Frugal Families. I've been with that board for years, and even though it's $10 a year for membership, it's the absolute best I've ever seen. A good frugal blog is Money-Saving Mom. Crystal has tons of information about grocery shopping and other savings that might be of use.
  3. Another vote for Sequential Spelling. However, we also take words from our readings to use for impromptu quizzes at the dinner table, in the car or wherever. My kiddos love to play games like that.
  4. Borrow some of the books from the Ambleside Online program from the library and use passages for him to copy. Dictate some to him. Have him write from prompts and help him correct his writings, explaining rules as you go. Read from the Ambleside books together and set up a vocabulary notebook where he jots down unfamiliar words, then have him look them up in the dictionary and use them in his own sentences.
  5. Homemade chicken fingers with rice and broccoli Sandwiches and pretzels Meatloaf with macaroni and cheese and green beans Waffles and fruit Doritos, Three Musketeers and Pepsi:D
  6. Good luck! We went the short route and discovered the littles are allergic to, well, everything. We're doing shots, but it is not easy!
  7. I've been hoping y'all would move to this format for ages now. I love it!
  8. Cheesy crockpot chicken: 1 can cheddar cheese soup 2 cans cream of chicken soup As much boneless, skinless chicken breast as you can squeeze in the crock 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Cook on low 8-10 hours, shred and serve over rice or noodles.
  9. Today, we're supposed to get 1-3 inches. I can't remember it snowing two good, sticky times in one week EVER! I think my children are going to drive me batty before this weekend is through.
  10. Three: 11 yo son, 8 yo daughter and 6 yo son. In public school, they would be in 6th, 2nd and 1st grades.
