  2. If you want to participate on the 18th with our group you just have to email the girl that is coordinating the trip. ( IF you PM, I can send you the email) WE only need 6 more kids left for the class. I forgot to add that older kids ( 6th grade and up) can't participate in the class but can do a self guided tour
  3. I guess something that says that you are legit homeschooler for this school year.
  4. The teacher led school groups are booked solid but my friend was able to get one group in on Friday, the 18th. We have some spots available. please send me a message if you are interested!! Home-school teachers, would download the resource packet, teach at home and then have the park for activities. All adults and kids are $5.00 BUT THEY MUST BE REGISTERED. I will need the money ahead of time and I can take paypal. You also need a certification of proof of association with a home school group. Thanks
  5. Hi guys! we are planning a trip to WDW between November 12-18. We are going with the Carolina homeschoolers to participate in WDW Yes program. I just found out that you can take classes at legoland for $5 ( preview price for their educational program) We are trying to put together a group of 15 or more for November 18th. Please let me know if anyone in the area can do that day. Thanks. http://florida.legoland.com/en/buy_tickets/Groups/education_programs/
  6. We were there for three months. Didn't meet any homeschoolers. I'm leaving to Chile in 4 days and I'm sure we will have the same problem there. We had a great time in Mexico but most of our curriculum is online. I took some books but we knew that we were there for a short time. My kids played all the time and met lots of kids. People are really friendly. Good luck
  7. I like it as supplement too. My kids watch the videos on tv using Roku then they practice online.
  8. Are you a member of IEW yahoo group? They have ideas you can use for each unit. THey have some which/who exercises. Also the group is very active and you can ask lots of questions

  10. Just got my books today!!! My DS is so happy to have his own LOF books just like his older brother. He read the first chapter by himself and really enjoy it. He is 6yo and loves math. I schedule LOF two times a week as a supplement but he will need a few more exercise or activities for each chapter he does.
  11. Yes, I email them and they told me that They will be ready to pre-order before the end oj July. I'm so happy.:tongue_smilie::tongue_smilie::001_smile:
  12. My kids are doing science, tech, stem, and some math from learning.com. It's like $16 for each class per year. You ( teacher)can add the lessons for each subject and you can see how much work they have done. The have print outs too.
  13. I want to find a way to teach Latin and Greek roots to my 5th grader. Here is my dilemma. I am a Spanish speaker but have not taught my kids Spanish. Since I want to start (finally) teaching them Spanish, I do not want to teach Latin or Greek as complete languages but rather the roots that will be useful in building vocabulary. (feel free to judge):tongue_smilie:
  14. For some reason it hasn't been a problem. They are pretty honest about it. You can cover the answers, or give them a similar problem to solve.
  15. One of my favorite things about homeschooling, is the funny things they say while doing their work. This happen today: DD: "What's a hundred times a million?" DS1: "A hundred million." DS2: "Wow! That's hard." DD: "It's not hard DS2. It's easy. It's as easy pie!" DS1: "No, DD, actually pi is really, really hard. Please post any of your kids moments. Let's have a laugh!
