My 13yo finally came out of the AP Calculus BC test....(we are in Santiago, Chile) it was his first AP test. I was a more stress out than he was...but he came out with a smile. Thank you guys for all the info. :)

Hi guys! I'm currently living in Santiago, Chile. I registered my 13yo DS for the AP calculus BC test at the international school. He has an online account with the college board. He self study for the test, but has taking online classes with AOPS for 4years. When I registered with the international school they only asked him for his name and told me that I don't have to worry about anything else....I'm not sure if they have worked with homeschoolers before... I got the school code...(south carolina) because we are moving back next year to sc and we have residency there. Whats a provider code if he self study and did Calculus with AOPS? Also what other code info do I need to provide? the international school pretty much took my money to register him and didn't give me much info after that. Thanks

Thanks Kate....we think we are coming back and the kids will be studying here. My husband gets move to different places and I'm just worry that we mind have to rethink our homeschool plans...

Nope, we are going to be expats....it takes over two year to be permanent resident so we probably won't get that either....I'm just don't know how things work...if I ever need to apply for something here like a SC diploma....thanks for your response.

Here is my question: We are moving to chile for two years. Homeschooling in chile is legal and there are no requirements for notification, testing, or teacher qualifications. Like any other South America country homeschooling is not very common. I have four kids and my DD will be starting 9th grade while we are there. We have schooled all our lives and planned to do it until the end if possible. I'm still researching how to homeschool a high schooler, so my question to you guys is; Should I register her with some school like Clonlara (we still want to do our own curriculum) or should I register with a local umbrella group (we are going to keep our house in the state) for the time that we are overseas? She is planning to come back to study here or study online. (She wants to study animation with animators mentor) I'm hoping the local umbrella is enough just in case she wants to go to a local college for dual credits when we come back in two years.

My 10yo took some of the classes and passed the test. The cd that comes with the book helped him a lot.

Read, read and read...living math books are great. Also Beast academy will slow her down. ;) My son is 9yo and doing Aops algebra and geometry.... He loves math. Sometimes he takes long breaks reading and doing other projects. Good luck!

My 7yo did MUS alpha and then he started TT3. He is doing pretty well, he is in chapter 75 and gets all the practice 99% right.He loves math have read LOF elementary books ( he is doing HoNey) and the best part is he does tt3 independently.

No, we bought it used form Ebay and three pieces were broken. My husband it's putting a big list of other pieces they need to use in other sets to order everything together. Also that's the UCS Death Star from long time ago, it's not the new one with the minifigs.

I'm remodeling and re-organizing my kids homeschool area. They do a lot with Legos so they like to put them back for the next project.

I had to add more pieces to the Creationary. I have four kids playing and it was hard for them to play without adding more. I just read the thread. Just to be clear that the missionaries, won't go inside your home if you tell them your husband is not home. They understand that. I'm LDS and when my husband is not home, they know they can only talk to me outside. They work really hard and they learn to love the people...even if they are rude.;)
