  1. About to soon do a Bar Method workout.
  2. Only have time for a Classical Stretch routine: Slenderize the Saddlebags.
  3. About to soon do: Crunch: Belly, Thighs & Ab Boot Camp & a Classical Stretch routine: Hip & Back Strengthening.
  4. Mostly stretching-type stuff this morning. We're taking our son to the airport in about an hour. It's his first international flight all by himself.
  5. Swimming very soon, but not for as long as I would like.
  6. I read Murder in Amsterdam - 4 Stars - I could barely put this book down. One morning in 2004, the great-grand-nephew of Vincent Van Gogh was killed as he bicycled on his way to work. Theo Van Gogh was a controversial public figure and filmmaker. He’d recently completed a film with another controversial figure Ayaan Hirsi Ali, about women and Islam. A Muslim Dutch citizen shot and stabbed Van Gogh. He also stuffed a letter into Van Gogh’s body threatening Hirsi Ali as well. “Islam may soon become the majority religion in countries whose churches have been turned more and more into tourist sites, apartment houses, theatres, and places of entertainment. The French scholar Olivier Roy is right: Islam is now a European religion.†The above quote struck me as possibly true. When I was in Europe four years ago, I was shocked to see a church in my old hometown that had turned into a mosque. The author addresses the challenges of a historically liberal and tolerant culture. MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad.
  7. I'm 47. My Ubble age is 39 and my 5-year risk of dying is 0.5%. Interesting. I'm not sure if I walk at an average or brisk speed. I put average, but oftentimes it's brisk.
  8. I'm going to do Jessica Smith's Awesome Abs & Arms workout & a Classical Stretch routine: Full Body Toning.
  9. Last week, someone posted a picture from The Hunger Games. You may need to go back and delete it. Please look at this thread for more info.
  10. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
  11. I have enough time on my hands this morning ( a rarity these days) to be able to do 7 miles of walking - 4 Miles of Leslie & 3 Miles of Hamelin D'Abell. Also hope to do a Classical Stretch routine: Hip Strengthening.
  12. Oh my goodness. I don't even remember the cherry lifesaver description ! Now I'll remember the hilarity here every time I see a cherry lifesaver. :D And mind you, I've heard that the movie is so much better than the book. I can't even imagine. Stacia, your pictures are fabulous. Your vacation sounds perfect! Glad to hear that you had such an interesting and good time. :grouphug:
  13. Rebounding. Woke up late and am hoping to fit in a Leslie Walk.
  14. Don't have time for more than 1 Mile of Leslie and a Classical Stretch routine: Increase Your Range of Motion.
  15. Nothing today, but did get lots of sleep. I hope to try to fit in at least one Classical Stretch later, or perhaps a swim.
  16. It was very dated and not that great. Some of the older workouts are very effective, but this one wasn't. Deleting it from my list. I love decluttering my list. :D
  17. About to do Denise Austin: No-Aerobic Trim & Tone.
  18. We're enjoying it also! I read most of the first book, but prefer to watch the show for now, which is a rarity for me. I have far too much to read and I'd already seen the first episode of the show before I realized that these are based on books.
  19. Robin, thank you, as always, for this thread. :grouphug: Now I'm thinking of re-reading some of Dumas' books. :) I read The Cider House Rules - 2 Stars - I really, really wanted to like this book, and I thought it was very good initially, but the more I read, the less I liked it. What bothered me was an overall lack of connection with the characters and the fact that I honestly felt that this more than 600 page book was never going to end! I seriously think that he could have written this in 300 pages or less. I found myself frequently checking to see how much there was left to read. One thing that annoys me quite a bit with Irving is his obsession with weight, specifically, with regards to women and weight. It seems to be a major issue with him. I don’t like that sort of rubbish at all. Many years ago, I read an awful book by him, “The 158-Pound Marriageâ€, named after one of the characters who weighed the “dreaded†158-pounds. How could she?! To be that obese! Quelle horreur . The storyline for that one was the absolute worst – about two couples swapped partners, swingers basically . I’m giving it two stars, because I feel a wee bit generous and because I have to be honest in that I liked it at first. 20. The Jessica Smith that I did was this one and it was very good. I used light weights instead of a resistance band.
  21. About to walk a total of 6 Miles (if I hopefully don't get interrupted - 4 Miles of Leslie & 2 Miles of Jessica Smith).
  22. New thread. Please post your workout here. Everyone welcome. :)
  23. Thank you so much. I needed that. :grouphug:
