    We are using Rod and Staff Science for 3rd and 5th grade. It isn't exciting, as stated earlier, but it is easy to teach and review. We are supplementing. We have done Apologia in the past and I wanted to do just an overview of some different topics.

    We love Catan and are looking for some other board games to play as a family. We are studying American History this year and thought it would be fun to incorporate that. Are there any games out there that you know of?

    Thank you for your suggestions! I think we will look at level 2 (shortened for DD) and then level 3.

    We have done very little narration and dictation. We are going to be focusing on these areas this year. My question is, being that we haven't done very much of these, where should we start with WWE? Should I keep them in the same level? DD gets side tracked, and DS hates to write.

    I think this is what is the most exciting, for all of us. Sunday nights are always so frantic here and I NEED to relax! We can't wait to start this. I think it will be so much fun to just read together and enjoy ourselves. I really appreciate everyone's ideas and comments. THANK YOU!

    We are beginning to use Sonlight Core 3 for history next week. We are very excited as we THINK we have finally found what we are looking for! :lol: Just wondering...what does your schedule for SL 3 look like at your house? Do you lapbook, notebook, just read...? Also, do you use their LA program? What do you think of it?

    I so wanted to LOVE Winter Promise All American Set 1, but it was sooooo disjointed. It is all over the place and the kids and I were all confused. Saxon - just the name gives us the shivers around here! WWE - wanted to love this one too, I just can't seem to get it. CLE - Social Studies and Science :thumbdown:

    I am really struggling with Science... I have posted a thread looking for opinions on SOS and K12, but I am also considering Sonlight. I know... it's comparing apples to oranges ;) but I am unsure of which route to take. I may use SL Core 3 for History and was wondering your thoughts on Science as well. Would it be too much reading to do both?
