  1. I bought a big pack of white towels in the auto cleaning section. Work great, cheaper than kitchen towels, can bleach and when I get tired of them (wear out or to stained) I throw in the rag bag

  2. Dss

Sitting on my porch watching the squirrels and birds or reading a book and having a coke

Going to the lake with dss & dh - fishing, sightseeing, having a picnic

    Reading

    Meeting with my new friends

Really clean house - doesn't happen often

Finding a really good deal -- at grocery, store or yard sale

  3. I think I have Mother's Day gifts bought :thumbup1:

A repairman came and looked at something yesterday.  He fixed it and then looked at something else I need worked on and told me what I need to do.  He didn't charge me for anything :hurray:  He said it was a simple fix (took about 5 minutes) and called it "friend helping out".  :thumbup1:

This week will mostly be about bills.  And maybe haircuts.  Oh and a few garden supplies.  I hope that is all.

  4. Around here they start as soon as it is light.

As for the push mower, my neighbor has a push mowers that is WAY louder than a riding mower.  And he never picks up sticks, he just mows over them.  Very Loud.

It wouldn't bother me if you were my neighbor and wanted to mow early.

  5. Last couple weeks were spendy and I am scared to even look about this week.

We had a few repairs made to the house, ds birthday, bought a few extra groceries (we were low on stuff) and caught up on some bills we got behind on :blushing:

I know I have some more bills, another birthday coming up and NEED to do some more house repairs.

  6. I wash dishes, put away food and wipe off counters, stovetop and table after supper.

Now is it always clean the next morning, nope.   Boys and dh sometimes eat a snack.  They don't wash the dishes but they do rinse them and leave in the sink.  So some mornings I get up to a clean kitchen, some mornings I have a bunch of dishes in the sink.

  7. First I think you are doing a GREAT job feeding your family and hope work comes y'alls way soon

Like the others said pulled pork when you can get a pork butt, Boston butt or pork roast on sale.  Pop in crock pot with a can of soda or other liquid.  Cook on low 10 hours or so. Shred and sprinkle on some all purpose seasoning if you have it.  If not it is still good without.

    Spaghetti with no meat

Potatoes are usually cheap but sometimes the bags have small potatoes, not good for baked potatoes.  I take the small ones and cut them in bite size chunks, toss with a little oil and seasonings (whatever is in the cabinet) and bake on cookie sheet.  Then use those as a base for a meal (topping with whatever I have or leftovers)

Taco potatoes -- dice, toss with oil and taco seasoning and bake on cookie sheet.  Top with taco sauce, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes etc. whatever you like on tacos.

  8. Boys... nothing like waiting til the last possible minute!!  Actually dh is worse than dss. Drives me crazy :willy_nilly:

Our stuff is washed together BUT dss  help.  They know how to do every load and will do the laundry whenever I say -- go do the laundry.  Dh on the other hand has no idea.  I have repeatedly shown him but he "doesn't remember".   Dss give him LOTS of grief about "not knowing how" to work the washer, dryer and vacuum (seriously push the button :001_rolleyes: he can't remember where the button is).

  9. Don't have one.  Most of the time I don't think about it.  I just wash dishes and use that time to day dream.  Other times I dream about having a dishwasher

SIL has a dishwasher but I think it is more of a pain than it is worth.  Basically the dishes have to be washed before loading and must be loaded a certain way.  Thanks but I will just do it by hand.

Step mom has one that basically if everything is scrapped it can go in the dishwasher.  And don't have to be loaded a certain way.  Hers I might could get use to ;)

  10. Please keep posting    I need all the inspiration I can get.

I cleaned out from under the bathroom sink.  I can't really start a project yet cause I have family coming over.  Right now I am in hide and straighten mode.  After they come over I plan on pulling stuff out and tossing :w00t:

  11. Each will get a small amount of candy.  Then a shared gift.  Some kind of outdoor game (ex. Frisbee golf, horse shoes, corn hole etc.). or maybe a new football or something like that.

  12. Last summer I did a big decluttering of books.  I probably got rid of 2 books cases worth of books.

I immediately got rid of all duplicate copies, easy readers & information books written for younger children and anything we just didn't care for.   That got rid of a lot.

Kept 1 copy of classics, favorite children books, Childhood of Famous Americans books and an old series books.
