Hello. Can anyone give me some advise on teaching 8th/9th graders one day a week in a co-op setting?
I will be using "It All Begins with Genesis" for Bible, Trisms: Discovering the Ancient World" for the classical unit study, and IEW and Fix-It Grammar. Biology will be taught by another mom. I have been pouring through the Trisms DAW and Genesis studies and feel like I've wrapped my brain around those. I won't start teaching IEW and Fix-it until I watch the 'Biology mom' teach it the first 3 weeks (I don't feel ready to do it all at once & I want to watch TWSS again).
I have no experience in teaching in a classroom setting. I have homeschooled my children for 10 years. The reason I am doing this is two-fold... I need the money so my kids can be in this co-op without breaking the bank and I enjoy studying the ancients myself.
So... any tips, advise or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
Also, can you think of any good teaching books that are readily available at Barnes & Noble, Mardel, or Lifeway? Meaning: books that help with classroom settings (I have many "how to" homeschooling books.. but no classroom setting books).
Thanks so much!!
