  1. Multiple offers and bidding wars are common here. We were outbid last spring on several homes when we were putting in offers even over $50k asking. We ended up in a beautiful home finally but it’s way too much space for us. There’s not enough houses here for the need and that’s driving up prices and the bidding wars. Good luck with you offer! It’s stressful waiting and seeing.
  2. Is your DS heading off to Basic or Advanced Camp? Fort Knox is a beautiful post!!
  3. It was truly an amazing moment! It was a day full of tears... both sad as well as happy. So many mixed emotions.
  4. What sweet photos. Best of luck to your son! I agree the seasons in life tug at the heart. I completely feel that too. My oldest son just commissioned Army last summer after graduating college. My husband gave our son his first salute ( husband retired recently after 26 years active Army). Bittersweet for me.
  5. I am sorry to hear about your DH. Saying a prayer for you.
  6. Just STUNNING!! Thank you for sharing. You did a fantastic job.
  7. This is so hard to walk through. Our family has faced some very tough situations as these over the years. Your husband's morals and integrity are to be commended. I am sorry. Hugs.
  8. Care to share a photo? Even a before/ after if you are willing.
  9. It is a great color choice! I’m leaning heavily towards the Hale Navy too.
  10. Thank you for the suggestions. I agree that those two colors might work really well with my existing colors I am trying to work around. I do think a warm cream would be pretty. I will grab some samples and go from there 🙂
  11. After thinking some, I would be open to painting the trim around the doors if I could find something that would be complimentary to not only the new door color, but also the existing trim color as it's on all the windows and we have ALOT of windows. I am open to suggestions.
  12. Can you link me some examples of the deep slate blue-brown paint colors? I am not even sure I know what that is.
  13. Agreed. Had not even considered that! Thanks for pointing it out.
  14. It’s a large home and they used that trim color around all doors and windows. Way too much space to paint. We are built on a hillside in a 3 story home so it would be impossible to paint some of the trim around the windows- we would need professionals. So for now I need to work with the trim.
  15. Honestly not sure. I’d think so but will look into it. Don’t think the doors are new given the age of home but could be wrong.
  16. I was initially thinking green as some of the interior doors I painted evergreen fog and really like it but then thought it would be too Christmas-y??
  17. Maybe it’s just that it’s too much red for me given the porch/ deck/ railing are all red? Not sure but I’m itching to change it. Haha on the white door…. not here in Alaska…
  18. Thank you! We love it and feel blessed to live here. We are in Alaska and that side of the house ( living room, kitchen, and dining) have a full view of the AK Range in the distance.
  19. We moved into our home a year ago and I am wanting to repaint the outside doors- all have the same red color. Need some color suggestions that go with the existing tan on the house and brownish on windows and as well as the red on the porch. We have a front porch side deck and back deck that are stained this reddish color that we need to work around. Ideas ??
  20. I would have to disagree.... my Mom never used cream cheese in her banana pudding 🙂 I get what you are saying though.
  21. I love Paula Deen's banana pudding.... but we use the Nilla Wafer cookies instead. So Yummy!!
  22. Both Dad (ALS)- 10 yrs ago and Mom (metastatic breast cancer)- 3 yrs ago were on hospice those last couple months of life. We had an amazing experience with in-home hospice care. My brother, sister and I were all regularly involved and caregivers/ advocates for our parents so that may have helped with the experience being so positive. The nurses and staff that we worked with were compassionate, available and did a fantastic job of being physically and emotionally supportive without hovering. They answered all of our questions and provided insight as to the dying process and what we could expect to see. When Dad passed the hospice team didn't rush us and allowed us the time we wanted and needed with Dad before having the funeral home come and get him. Both of my parents passed peacefully and were comfortable in the final stages. We felt very supportive and fortunate for Hospice both times.
  23. I just recently had my hair cut with a new to me hairdresser... $65 for a wash/ cut. I tipped but felt that the charge is more than adequate without a tip on top. Not sure why we are 'supposed' to tip hairdressers here in the US anyway.
