These are awesome. I would like to try your template out. I was planning on using index cards and some library envelopes I found at the dollar store. How would I print these? On regular paper and cut out, or on individual index cards. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. Thank you for sharing your hard work.

Wedding Etiquette Question
extendedforecast replied to extendedforecast's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Thanks for answering my question. This is a shower for both the bride and groom, so I suppose it would be expected for the groomsmen to be involved. I didn't think anything of it until DH pointed out that for baby showers it's the host that finances the shower. The maid (matron?) of honor and her husband, the best man, are the ones hosting. They are a very young couple, and I wouldn't expect them to finance the party all on their own. Either way we are happy to help as we can. -
Is it typical for the wedding party to pitch in to pay for the bridal shower for the groom and bride? I have very limited experience with weddings, as I've never been in a wedding party before. My husband will be a groomsman, and is being asked to contribute to the shower. It is a small amount being asked, and we don't mind pitching in. We are just wondering if it's a common thing. Thanks

What do your toddlers eat for breakfast?
extendedforecast replied to Tap's topic in General Education Discussion Board
On days I don't cook, I serve DS cheerios with no milk, a banana (he must have one first thing in the morning), and string cheese and a cup/bottle of milk. Most days I whip up an egg, either scrambled or over medium and serve it with cheese (if scrambled) or toast (if over medium), plus the banana that he HAS to have and milk. Honestly, I take the same amount of time preparing breakfast whether it's hot or cold. -
I switched over to Corelle from melamine plates and bowls two years ago, and none of my dishes have broken yet (knock on wood). I love that they are light weight and come in a variety of sizes. We also have fiesta ware that DH and I use. We love it. As the older children get older, they will transition to fiesta.

I have the activity pages filed, but then I started debating whether to add plain notebook paper for narrations, or to use a composition notebook for all narrations. I'm also thinking of using a narration template for each chapter, but this will take a lot of time to set up. Any other ideas? I'm sorry if this has already been discussed. I am lost in the original thread.

Multiple C-Section Question

Thanks for all the replies. I feel much, much better just reading your experiences. Tomorrow is my prenatal appt., and I plan to go in and talk to my OB about everything I've been worried about. -

Multiple C-Section Question
extendedforecast replied to extendedforecast's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Thank you. I am planning on talking to my OB to discuss a possible VBAC, since he is supportive of VBACs on a case by case basis. I will mention my fears and hopefully he will be able to ease my concerns. -
I'm expecting my fifth child next month. I haven't been able to enjoy this pregnancy because I'm so scared of the delivery. This will be my fifth c-section, unless I can convince my OB to let me attempt a VBAC. I'm really scared that something will go wrong, and I won't survive the surgery. I was this way a little with my fourth, but not to this extreme. To make matters worse, my mom is in tears every time I talk to her about this pregnancy because she is more worried than I am. Do you personally know anyone who has had five or more c-sections? I'm in need of positive outcomes so that I can relax a little. Thanks.

Donna Young Form/Lesson Planner -- Help?
extendedforecast replied to Sahamamama's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
How about this one? I tried to link to the actual adobe file, but it linked to a different page when I checked it. The one I am referring to is the science planner. You'll have to scroll down about half way to see it. I am planning on using this for some subjects. -
Grammar to reinforce Capitalization and Punction?
extendedforecast replied to Stacey in NY's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Dictation worked wonders for my 5th grade DD this year. Once or twice a week, I would dictate a sentence to her, and if she wrote it down correctly, spelling, punctuation and all, she would get a check mark. Otherwise I would dictate a new sentence to her. Once she got five check marks, the lesson was over. Surprisingly, this exercise carried over to her writing. I think she learned to think about punctuation and capitalization while writing as well as how to word each sentence, instead of just pouring out her thoughts on paper, conversation style. -
I love the way you describe your uterus. Perhaps if I think of my own like that, I won't feel so bad about how I'm going to look after I birth this baby.

Joy Hakim Science Books/Teacher Guides 50% off
extendedforecast replied to scrapbabe's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
My order arrived today! (I ordered them late at night on the 17th) I am so excited to start planning this into our next year. My DD's took the books right away to look through them and already are interested in a few topics. Just curious, what are you supplementing these books with? -
Thanks for sharing. This is something my kids would play all the time.

I was about to pull out the pages of Spelling Workout when I realized that the pages are not perforated. How do you rip apart workbooks like this one? I suppose I could take the book down to Office Depot and have them cut it for me. Any other ideas?

Homeschool Dads
extendedforecast replied to Barry Goldwater's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My husband cooks 66% of our meals and helps with after meal clean up as well. If one of the kids is being crabby or having a meltdown during "school", I send them to daddy, because daddy knows just what to say or do to make them feel better. His patience is amazing. My husband is also great at tutoring our kids in Math or listening to them read if they need the extra help or if they just prefer to be with him. I am thankful that he is home with us, because even though there is less order to our day, we are able to spend a lot more quality time as a family.- 31 replies

My plan is to move the sheet to the next week's folder. I'll have to set up some sort of reminder, like a post-it note, so I don't forget.
