  1. As I was reading the thread about nasty comments received for home schooling, and the responses about "if you consider yourself qualified" it got me to thinking. Are most of the homeschooling mothers on this particular forum college graduates? Do you think you need to be one in order to home school? Has it helped or hindered you to be a college graduate or higher? What do you think of parents who aren't college graduates who home school? Do you think there is any validity to the qualifications of home school parent?
  2. Ignore list IRL...I know about that one as well...lol Certainly I'll be the last to post this time!
  3. Your on an ignore list??? cause i totally got overlooked in this thread as with all threads I start and post about!
  4. I was wondering why all my post were the last......I also didn't know that there was a ignore list!! Now I understand it!!
  5. Thanks Erica, I noticed the little note when I went back through last night. I know I said we do thirty minutes...what I meant was we have thirty minutes scheduled. Since we are only doing step one it takes way less time than that. I just assumed that as it got harder we would do two 15 minute sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  6. All of your post were very helpful and were in line with what I was thinking... Either make it up or skip it altogether. I think though, that I have a tester on my hands. She looked through to the end to see when she yould move on to book two and squealed about the test.....in a good way!
  7. If I don't have the teacher book........is it still possible to do it? There are some dictation sentences and i was just wondering if it's possible to go without........I really don't want to buy the teacher guide but if I have to I will!
  8. We just started level one of AAS and a few things are unclear to me. 1. How long do you stay on a step before you move on? for example: There were a few of the phonogram cards that she didn't know the multiple sounds to. So do we keep on with the phonograms until they are all mastered then move on to step two or can we learn and master new sounds while working the other steps? 2. How many days a week do you do spelling and how long? We do spelling Tuesday and Thursday for thirty minutes. Do I need to increase the number of days to make this effective? 3. How long did it take you to get through the entire level? Will it be logical to plan for the beginning of next year to start level two or will it be sooner than that? Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my Questions!!
  9. Does anybody have experience using the first edition of the AG and the Second edition of the reader book? When I bought the AG used I asked if the edition was the current one and was assured it was but then I got the old one and I can't find the emails that were sent back and forth to prove that they said it was current. How much of a diffrence is there between the first and the second editions. Will I be OK? If you figured this out in the past how did you do it?
  10. Are there any that aren't expensive but kinda structured and good......Ha I just asked a question like my daughter would have! I'm looking for something for my three year old that want's to "do school". I need something that's gonna tell me what to do because I'm kinda tapped out with my oldest. I need hand holding and clear instruction! I really want a inexpensive program! And I know a lot of the advice will be read to and sing with and....we do that but I want a program... Thanks in advance for your response!!
