Greta
I use a really wonderful sunscreen from Paula's Choice on my face, because it goes on so light and then seems to just disappear. So it doesn't feel cakey or goopy under my makeup. I love the stuff. But it is much too expensive (for me) to use on all the other places I need sunscreen every day: neck, shoulders, arms, hands. So I'd like to find something relatively inexpensive that feels (and preferably smells) like lotion rather than thick and sticky like most sunscreen. It doesn't have to have a really high SPF (I use a really high SPF when I know I'm going to be out in the sun for an extended period, and I just put up with the stickiness and the smell. But this is for everyday use when I won't be getting all that much sun exposure, so a lower SPF should be fine.) Does such a thing exist? Guest
Neutrogena's might fill the bill. I like it for the reasons you state...not heavy, greasy.

6packofun
Yes, I like Neutrogena's, too! The knock offs by CVS and Target aren't bad, either. (They have to be knock offs of the Neutrogena, though! lol)
MEmama
I like Neutrogena and Cerave.
Peaceseeker
Another vote for Neutrogena. I have been using the Ultra sheer/ dry touch for years and I have sensitive skin.

Greta
It's rare to get a unanimous answer. I'll definitely have to try it! Thanks!
redsquirrel
I have it in my head that Neutrogena only comes in 30spf? I honestly can't remember now. But I use that and I use CeraVe. I generally use a 50spf at least from March until September. I will go down to a 30 in the winter months because I live in a northern climate and there isn't much sun anyway, lol. I also use Biore "watery essence" which is a japanese sunscreen. They make amazing sunscreens in Japan. The biore is quite thin and has a lot of alcohol in it. I thought I would hate it but I love it. The alcohol evaporates very quickly and it dries down and feels like nothing. I also use the creamy sunscreens, like Neutrogena, but in the hotter months the Biore works much better on my skin. It isn't greasy or sticky at all. The Biore watery essence is classified as ++++ which is about 50 spf. It feels like it costs more, but the sunscreen is quite thin and runny, so it spreads very well and I feel like I need less of it, so it all balances out.
Alice
Neutrogena as well. And it comes in higher SPF, up to at least 70 spf. I have red hair and burn thinking about the sun and it works great for me. It's also the only one that my son with eczema can use.

The problem is I live in the desert and my skin is already parched. I'd be nervous about putting alcohol on it. But I wonder if there are similar liquid formulas without alcohol. I wouldn't mind something really emollient because my dry skin needs moisture. It's the stickiness that I hate. Some of them feel like you're smearing toothpaste on your skin! Neutrogena as well. And it comes in higher SPF, up to at least 70 spf. I have red hair and burn thinking about the sun and it works great for me. It's also the only one that my son with eczema can use. My daughter has eczema too, so that's good to know. My dad is a red head, and the poor guy has had so many skin cancers on his arms, hands, and ears. :-( I didn't get his red hair (which is a bummer - I love red hair!) but my skin is super fair like his. And I live in a sunnier place than he does! I'm 43 but I already look sun damaged. I really wish I'd paid more attention to this years ago. I've always worn sunscreen when I was planning to be outside. What I didn't realize was how much sun you get just walking to your car and driving around doing errands and such. It really adds up! mom2samlibby
Pretty sure Neutrogena goes up to 110 SPF. I use that kind also.
pink&bluemommy
A blogger I follow just recently talked about sunscreen likes (she had some pre skin cancer a while back). She mentioned powdered sunscreen which I thought was interesting. Here's her link (great recipes too). Melskitchencafe.com

I'm going to order some to try. Dd and I both hate (the often recommended) cetaphil face moisturizer sunscreen. It's oil free and makes us feel greasy and we both have dry skin.
